Shad Gaspard’s body found near site of his disappearance

NBC Los Angeles reports that officials have confirmed a body found overnight is that of former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard.

A jogger spotted the body Weds., May 20 at 1:30 a.m. local time. Los Angeles Police and County Firefighters at the scene said it matched Gaspard’s description. The Lifeguard division of the LA County Fire Department has since confirmed it is the 39 year old officials have been searching for since Sunday afternoon. It was then that Gaspard disappeared beneath a crashing wave after directing rescuers to save his son from the rip current they were caught in.

Ten year old Aryeh Gaspard was attended to by paramedics, but did not require hospitalization.
