Finn Bálor’s attacker is a bit of a let down

Weeks back, Finn Bálor was attacked backstage. The assailant’s identity remained unknown.

Tonight, we learned who it was.

During a match against Cameron Grimes, Finn was attacked outside the ring by Damian Priest. Priest nailed the Prince with his nightstick when the referee wasn’t looking. This allowed Grimes to capitalize and pick up a massive win over Bálor.

After the match, the Archer of Infamy delivered the Reckoning onto a chair. He then positioned the chair on the throat of Bálor and sat on it. That’s when he told the Prince that it was he that attacked Finn weeks back.

So there you have it.

It’s a bit of a letdown angle with plenty of cooler options out there, such as Karrion Kross, Dexter Lumis, or Undisputed ERA. Damian Priest has been fine, but lacking that certain something in NXT so far. So it feels like a bit of a waste of Finn’s talents. But they’re intent on trying to get him over. Feuding with Finn Bálor gives him a good chance to get there.
