AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 13
Feeling like we’re ready to kick tonight, no hesitating, my body’s aching. Looking for some action, satisfaction all right. Charging, vein faced, as active as one-hundred solid proof megaton. Leviathan, we’re ready to hit the roof! You better watch out and hold on tight, we’re heading your way like Dynamite, which happens to be the pro wrestling show I’m liveblogging tonight, folks.
The show opens into the intro.
Lance Archer makes his entrance, bringing a young lion of sorts along with him to kick the crap out of in the ring. Jake “the Snake” Roberts follows shortly behind.
Jake gets on the mic and says as soon as Brandi Rhodes kisses his ass, she’ll get an apology, and the ring is their playhouse. As far as he’s concerned, a woman is great at home, cooking, wiping baby’s butts, diapering them, and occasionally, when it’s very cold outside, she can keep him warm. He has a woman that comes and sees him and makes sure he watches Lance’s work because it makes him very excited.
He tells Cody Rhodes the time is about up— he can’t hide behind his brother, no more excuses, it’s time to pay the piper. The sound of an engine revving interrupts Jake and we cut to see Cody behind the wheels of a giant truck. He hits the gas and drives up to a barricade near the stage! Rhodes gets out and Archer meets him!
Cody with an initial advantage, a low blow, raining punches down but he gets distracted heading for Roberts and Lance biels him over some chairs and into a table! Jake calls him free meat but Cody ducks a lariat and hits punches on punches, all aimed square at Archer’s head! He slides a chair in the ring, lands on his feet on the apron off a chokeslam attempt but Lance sweeps his legs out from under him!
Archer poses for the crowd but Rhodes chokes him with his own braid! In the ring, he throws the chair at Archer but the monster shrugs it off and destroys him with a boot! Lance sets him up but he slips out of Blackout! EBD Claw denied, Cody Cutter blocked, Roberts decides discretion is the better part of valor and the heels back out of the ring.
Commentary hypes up the rest of tonight’s show and we get a video package hyping up the tag division.
Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent?) vs. Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry & Luchasaurus)
Taylor and Perry to start, a bit of light lucha libre in the feeling out, back and forth, trading arm drags, stalemate! Jawbreaker for Taylor, tail whip, assisted reverse STO, Jurassic Express running hot! Fighting on the floor, Best Friends double-team the dinosaur with a suplex and we get the hug!
Perry breaks it up with a tope con giro and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Luchasaurus laying chops in on Trent in the corner, whip across, Beretta with a spear for breathing room! Pairing off, Ford on Statlander and Baker on Shida, heels with an advantage early. Britt hits a surfboard stomp and goes right to try and break Hikaru’s teeth! Statlander makes the save, Baker tries to boop her but Kris and Shida team up for a backbreaker! Crossbody from Penelope! Baker whips Hikaru, duck the back elbow, duck the lariat, duck the enzuigiri, Britt wants Lockjaw but she can’t have it!
Shida going for a suplex, blocked, Baker with Sling Blade and into a Lockjaw attempt but Kris claws at her nose to break it up! Post-match, Nyla Rose holds the title up in the crowd.
We get a video package for Suge “Pinapple Pete” D where he talks about his rivalry with Chris Jericho, and this sends us to break.
Ortiz and Santana attack Kenny Omega before their scheduled tag team match and beat him down! Matt Hardy arrives and cuts Santana off on the stage, biting him and throwing him into the entry!
Kenny Omega & “Broken” Matt Hardy vs. Proud-N-Powerful (Ortiz & Santana)
Omega and Ortiz to start, back and forth, Angel with the back rake! Kenny prevailing, double-team Kotaro Krusher and he tags Hardy in! Matt, blood in his mouth, they do a Poetry in Motion on Santana and a double suplex on Ortiz! Hardy and Santana in, headlock Russian leg sweep sets up a leg drop for two!
Matt drawing him up, smashing his face into the turnbuckles, tag to Omega. Kenny smashes Santana’s face into the turnbuckles, big chop, overhead elbow, right hands to the dome, but Ortiz runs interference and Santana clotheslines Omega to the floor! Duck a lariat, elbow strike, but Angel picks him off the apron to continue working him over as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Santana is well in control of Omega, working him over with a Boston Crab. Quick tags, Inner Circle lads with a head of steam, Ortiz playing around with Kenny, dancing a little, and that gives Omega the opening to start throwing heavy hands. Angel rakes his eyes but Kenny has the wherewithal to snap off a Dragon suplex!

This time he stands up and explains that he’s an experienced amateur wrestler and storms off.
Hikaru Shida is interviewed about her title match at Double or Nothing.
She talks about how the best thing she can do is win the title, so she’s gonna beat Nyla.
Enter Nyla Rose.
She congratulates her and says she got her a present... SHE WHIPS A KENDO STICK OUT AND NAILS HER WITH IT, EXPLAINING THAT SHE “FOUND YOUR KENDO STICK, BITCH!”
Lee Johnson vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman
MJF on the offense, belly-to-belly suplex, pressing the attack, disdainful and in no hurry. He dumps Johnson out of the ring... APRON POWERBOMB! Back inside, underhook shoulderbreaker sets it up...
Maxwell Jacob Friedman wins by submission with Salt of the Earth.
Post-match, MJF gets on the mic and apologizes for his peers (who are all booing) not knowing how to react to a professional wrestler. He’s excited for his pay-per-view match against Jungle Boy at Double or Nothing, but he’s got some real ring rust and he feels stiff, isn’t that right, Lee? He walked into the arena this morning and saw that Marko Stunt has an open contract for a match and he signed it.
So he tells Stunt to get ready, because they’re gonna have a lot of fun, and he drops his catchphrase with Wardlow putting his ring on his finger.
And so we go to break.
Chris Jericho vs. Suge “Pinapple Pete” D
Squaring up, jawing at each other, Jericho pastes him with a slap and Suge gives it right back! Punching like mad in the corner, whip across, charging elbow! Whip across, big uppercut, he charges in again...
Chris Jericho wins by pinfall with the Judas Effect.
Post-match, Y2J gets on the mic and says that now that the threat of Pineapple Pete has been vanquished, it’s time to move on to the Inner Circle vs. the Elite. If, indeed, the Elite is even a thing— half their guys haven’t been on TV for two months, with Adam Page out picking berries and the Young Bucks stuck on their couches.
But they’re honorable, and that’s why they’re gonna give the Elite a chance to get their shit together and face the Inner Circle one last time. While the world reacts to COVID-19, the Inner Circle is writing history, and that’s why they’ve created the Stadium Stampede Match. And what is that?
If you thought last week’s street fight was wild and woolly, imagine what could happen in an 80,000 seat football stadium! It’ll be at Double or Nothing, if the Elite accept the challenge! And they’ll wait all night for a response1
Vanguard-1 flies in with his Inner Circle shirt hanging from his undercarriage. Jericho tells the drone he’s got a lot of guts showing up after what he pulled, and he reclaims the shirt. He asks the drone for the Elite’s answer... THEY ACCEPT! Chris asks Vanguard about his decision to join the Inner Circle before rescinding the invitation and introducing the real sixth member of the Inner Circle— the baseball bat he’s holding, Floyd.
And Floyd has a message, which is... JERICHO TAKES THE BAT TO VANGUARD-1! HE SMASHES THE DRONE! THE INNER CIRCLE PUT BOOTS TO HIM AND MATT HARDY MAKES THE SAVE! Matt clutches the shattered remains of his valiant friend, bereft.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we’re informed that the Women’s World Championship match at Double or Nothing is now no disqualification, no countout.
A recap of Brodie Lee challenging Jon Moxley to an AEW World Championship match and stealing the title belt follows.
Christopher Daniels makes his entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Brodie Lee makes his entrance and insists on being announced as AEW World Champion.
Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels
Lee charges in but Daniels turns him around and we get a little back and forth. Heavy hands from Brodie, raking the eyes, whip across, duck the elbow, duck a lariat, crossbody caught and Lee turns it into a powerslam! Throwing Chris out of the ring, stalking out after him, hooking him over the barriade for a chop before punching him in the back of the head.
Right hands in front of the babyface section of the crowd, back inside but Daniels gets a front kick and follows it up with a suicide dive! ARABIAN PRESS ASAI MOONSAULT! Back in, slingshot elbow drop, not even a one count! Strikes in the corner, mounted punches, Brodie shoves him off and drops him with that trademark Brodie Lee big boot!
Drawing the Fallen Angel up, setting him in the corner and pasting him with a big chop, raking his eyes, whip across, big back body drop! Big slicing right in the corner, choking Daniels, whip across into a back elbow and Lee goes to ringside to screw with the other two guys in SCU. Back inside, stalking his prey, stepping on the side of his head and using the ropes for leverage!
Whip across... TRUCK STOP! Only two, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Lee in control, slingshot senton atomico sets up a superkick... NOPE! Drawing Daniels up, whip across, back body drop countered into a big DDT and the Fallen Angel is still in the fight! Charging in, forearms on forearms, trying to stagger the big man. Sidestep the charge, enzuigiri connects and he follows it up with a Frankensteiner!
Another charging elbow, Lee on his knees but 10 runs interference and SCU tak him out! Brodie charges in, chair in hand, and Chris waffles him over the head with it! Reverse STO into a Koji Clutch! The Dark Order swarms the ring, babyfaces run them off and referee Bryce Remsburg restores order! Daniels turns around, Lee with a goozle, land on his feet off the chokeslam attempt.
Kick to the midsection, Angel’s Wings... BRODIE LEE KICKED OUT AT ONE! Brodie fired up, Chris goes for it again, gets turned around into a mule kick. Brodie Bomb countered, Best Moonsault Ever... SO CLOSE! Boot up, Daniels heads up top, missile dropkick... Brodie steps away! Lining him up...
Brodie Lee wins by pinfall with a discus lariat.
Brodie’s goons hit the ring and return his stolen title belt to him. JON MOXLEY IS HERE! He hops the rail and starts taking Dark Order goons out! He hits the ring, drops one with a lariat, Lee throws another in... PARADIGM SHIFT! Brodie and 10 leave with the belt and Mox paces, putting boots to the guy left in the ring.
Jon gets on the mic and says he can admire guts and seizing the opportunity, but he doesn’t suffer disrespect, and he will not suffer fools. He calls Brodie out and says he’s made a very foolish decision and he’ll pay for it dearly, with interest. The AEW World Championship is about a lot more than a piece of metal, and he’s gonna find that out on May 23 at Double or Nothing.
There will be a hailstorm of violence, and when the dust settles, Mr. Lee, you may very well find that your AEW career is over before it started.
He goes to the floor and throws the Dark Order goon that he left laying there over the barricade.
That’s the show, folks.
