AEW released their latest rankings (Apr. 8, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.
Men:
The big change this week is Jake Hager and Chris Jericho swapping spots at #1 and #2. Hager becoming the official contender for Jon Moxley’s title defense next week on Dynamite has pushed him past Le Champion.
I’ve got my eye on how far Jericho could fall with inactivity. Cody Rhodes has a match against Shawn Spears tonight in the TNT Championship tournament. Would a win over Spears be enough to elevate Cody over Jericho?
Women:
No changes this week, but there is a top 5 matchup tonight when Hikaru Shida wrestles Britt Baker. Shida is far and away the top contender. Baker will get a chance to back up her talk of being the face of the women’s division. A win by Baker should catapult her to the top spot.
Tag Team:
No changes this week. The Best Friends have a chance to boost their resume when they wrestle Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa. If Chuck Taylor or Trent can manage to pin Omega for the win, then beating one-half of the tag champs should push them up the rankings.
Enjoy Excalibur running down the rankings.
