MLW Roundup: Team Filthy fighting cool cats, Richard Holliday scheming, more!

Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion.

MLW vs AAA Super Series Week 2

Fusion returns from Tijuana, Mexico with their interpromotional challenge against AAA. Team Filthy and Douglas James are up next to help MLW take the lead from the current 1-1 tie.

Tom Lawlor and Dominic Garrini will be in action against Puma King and Xtreme Tigre. The Team Filthy members aim to grind down the coolest cat and his tiger friend. Their goal will be to win impressively, so they can make a statement towards earning a tag title shot against the Von Erichs.

Douglas James will square off against Averno. Averno is a rudo with the OGT’s trio, alongside Superfly and Chessman. Averno has a tendency to make his matches rough. He’s not afraid to get physical, even though, he can do plenty of lucha libre maneuvers.

The preview also teases a steaming Mance Warner, a challenge from Pagano, and more updates on Injustice and Brian Pillman Jr.

What are your predictions for this week’s bouts on Fusion?

***Tonight’s Fusion starts at 10 pm ET on beINSPORTS for this week.

Quick hits

Richard Holliday has been making legal threats for the Caribbean Championship to be formally acknowledged by MLW. Holliday put the power to the people by requesting 100 retweets to make it official.

Bauer was not on board with this arrangement. He insulted Holliday’s tan and claimed fake accounts rigged the total. Perhaps the monetary lure of naming rights sponsorships made Bauer reconsider. In the end, Bauer admitted that it was under consideration.

On SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Low Ki and Dan Lambert had heated words. Lambert is the manager for King Mo. Low Ki and Lambert argued about King Mo winning in their King of the KO match. That rivalry is far from over.

While on suspension, Injustice has been in the lab creating music tracks. “Reports from the Injustice camp indicate the lyrics throw shade at not only MLW (for suspending them) but attacking Brian Pillman’s hair and weight.”

MLW is teasing a new project from Alicia Atout. No details were given. It might be something related to sitdown interviews.

Salina de la Renta has a new website for her personal merch.

If you’ve been yearning for MLW gold of your very own, that dream appears to be closer to reality.

We’ll close with Josef Samael explaining the pain of the reverse grip Camel Clutch.

Hail, Contra! They will break your back and make you humble.
