With Pete Dunne stuck in the UK and unable to defend his portion of the tag team championships, William Regal tasked the BroserWeights to come up with a replacement for him for a tag title match against Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong.
The decision itself was left to Stallion Pete, who kept his partner hanging until the match itself. That’s when he revealed his replacement to be new signee Timothy Thatcher. Thatcher immediately wanted none of Bro’s shenanigans.
No time for fistbumps. TIMOTHY THATCHER is here to BREAK JAWS!@SuperKingofBros just secured himself a FANTASTIC tag team partner! #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/y11s9cC8S1

Thatcher and Riddle are no strangers to each other, though usually on the other side of the ring from one another. The other interesting factor is Thatcher used to be managed by Stokely Hathaway, now Malcolm Bivens in NXT. Bivens has been actively targeting Riddle with his new tag team Indus Sher. Could that be an issue going forward?
It wasn’t an issue tonight. Thatcher proved the worth of his blue chip signing and ended up tapping Roderick Strong to retain tag team championships he wasn’t part as of the start of the show.
Thatcher is a no-BS kind of guy. Pete Dunne was too, but he eventually came around to Matt Riddle’s antics. We’ll see if the Bro wins Timothy over to his side of he eventually can’t handle all of Riddle. And we’ll also see what happens when Pete Dunne is ready to come back. With Thatcher be willing to hand the gold right back? Stay tuned.
