AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 1
I’ve heard about inner light it makes the brown in your eyes look watery. I felt something while talking to you, gently intoxicating I felt the source of your inner light. It’s such a struggle though I know I have to, I just can’t bring myself to touch it. I need to feel the inner light, but first, I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you.
The show opens with Tony Schiavone at ringside with Cody Rhodes and his dog. Wrestlers are in the crowd again.
Kenny Omega vs. Trent?
Collar and elbow, Trent? backing Omega into the corner and breaking with a smart tap on the chest. Back to the lockup, go behind into a headlock takeover but Kenny escapes promptly. Headlock takeover of his own, escape, off the ropes, Beretta with a Meteora! Omega with a snapmare into knees and stomps, smashing his face into the turnbuckle and choking him after.
More strikes in the corner, whip across, charging into a back elbow and Trent? fires off a double stomp! Kenny to the floor, Asai Moonsault connects and Chuck and Orange come in for the hug! Omega back in, off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Throwing Beretta back inside, off the ropes, Kotaro Krusher for a nearfall! Following it up with the running backbreaker, two more, still only getting nearfalls.
Drawing him up, clubbing his back down, hammer whip, double axehandle to the back and a back body drop to follow it up. Whip across, just dominating the match but soon enough Trent is able to use the injured hand as a lever, wrenching his arm over the ropes and wishboning the fingers! Snapmare, knee drop to the wrist, stepping on his hand and giving Kenny hell!
Action falls to the floor, smashing Omega’s hand into the apron, stepping on his hand and stomping the elbow! Omega dodges a knee drop and waistlocks him... ELEVATED GERMAN SUPLEX ON THE FLOOR! Kenny keeping the pressure up... POWERBOMB INTO A SUPPORT BEAM! Back inside, another backbreaker gets Omega a tight nearfall, but Beretta counters the Finlay Roll into a tornado DDT!
Charging elbow in the corner, setting him up in the ropes, chop to the back... SLIDING GERMAN SUPLEX! Trent takes a breather while Kenny writhes in agony and we go to break.
Back from commercial, slugging it out forearm for forearm, but men staggered and running on deep reserves. Shifting to chops as we get the five minute warning and Trent snaps off a half nelson suplex! V-Trigger in return, powerbomb coutnered into a piledriver... SO CLOSE! Jockeying for position around the corner, tornado DDT reversed into the Dragon suplex! Looking for another, Beretta with elbows to break the hold.
Off the ropes, a huge lariat takes Kenny down! Going for the Dudebuster, Omega with a powerbomb into the V-Trigger but he’s too spent to capitalize! Referee Aubrey Edwards checking on him, both men dragging themselves to the apron, Kenny with a waistlock but Trent hangs on the ropes. Chops, thinking piledriver, Omega blocks and we have two minutes left.
Springboard, Beretta right up with him, he slips but corrects course... AVALANCHE GERMAN SUPLEX! BUSAIKU KNEE! OMEGA KICKS OUT?! V-Trigger, another one, one minute on the clock...

Back from commercial we get a video package hyping Hikaru Shida up.
Anna Jayy vs. Hikaru Shida
Circling, collar and elbow, Shida backing her into the corner and breaking clean at referee Paul Turner’s behest. Jayy with a chop, cicling, back to the lockup, side headlock but Hikaru blocks the first shoot off. Second lands, lariat connects, drop down, looking for a hip toss but Shida blocks! Off the ropes, Anna blocks a dropkick and boots her in the face!
Drawing her up, slam blocked, grabbing Shida’s hair and kicking her in the midsection. Off the ropes, Hikaru gets a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! Hanging her over the apron, running knee to the head! Back inside, Jayy with right hands, Shida firing up, shoving her back and offering up her chest for more! Big right hand, but Hikaru nails her with a forearm that absolutely devastates her in return!
Jayy with a scorpion kick, leg kick into a huge running neckbreaker... NOT ENOUGH! Shida catches a boot, misses a roundhouse, and kicks out of an Oklahoma roll! Backslide to follow, schoolboy pin, Hikaru counters into a headscissors but Anna gets the ropes! Shida with a vertical suplex, only a nearfall, running knee to the back of the head, front chancery...
Hikaru Shida wins by pinfall with a Falcon Arrow.
Shida stares Dr. Britt Baker, DMD down and kicks the barricade in front of her. They jaw at each other and Hikaru leaves to reclaim her entrance gear from Chuck Taylor and send us to break.
Back from commercial, Cody and Tony talk about Jon Moxley’s issues with the Inner Circle and recap a bunch of it with video footage.
A hype reel for Moxley vs. Jake Hager follows, featuring new footage of both men talking about how they’re gonna win, as well as of Chris Jericho explaining that he’s waiting to cash his rematch clause in and that the Inner Circle are unified, so if Jake wins the title, all the better. The end of the package tells us the match will happen in two weeks and is an Empty Arena No Holds Barred Match.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Colt Cabana replaces Cody Rhodes on commentary.
Jake “the Snake” Roberts gets a promo from a dark room where he talks about how Lance Archer is going to destroy whoever you’ve got lined up against him. He’s smiling because they’re playing a silly little game, but they don’t play and gambling is for fools. He says that Archer is the ace in the deck and he’s about to come through and tear somebody in half.
He tells Cody to stop and that he may be smart enough to be afraid, or maybe his better half is telling him where not to go, and he’s pretty sure she wears the pants.
Lance Archer vs. Marko Stunt
Archer wreaking havok before the bell even rings, taking out some crew and laying Stunt out. Bieling him into the corner at the bell, drawing him up and chopping him down! Boot to the face, Marko with upkicks, Lance asking for his best shot and taking punch after punch with ease before dropping Stunt with an elbow! Choking him with the ropes, dragging him into the middle of the ring and kneeling on his head!
Telling him to just quit but Marko refuses to, so he scoops him up and hits a RIDICULOUS one-arm powerbomb! Stunt runs to the floor and sidesteps a charge, suicide dive connects but Archer gets back in the ring! Goozle gets an enzuigiri, corner dropkicks, criss-cross... LANCE ARCHER POUNCES HIM OUT OF THE RING AND TO THE FLOOR! Pacing out after him, Archer slides him back inside and picks him up... CHOKESLAM! Lance pulls him out of the cover at two and a half, elevated inverted crucifix...
Lance Archer wins by pinfall with Blackout.
Post-match Archer throws Stunt to the apron as the babyfaces at ringside tell him to stop... CHOKESLAM OFF THE APRON AND INTO THE CROWD!
Colt and Tony talk about the match and Cabana’s first-round tournament match against Archer for next week as babyfaces check on Marko.
A Dark Order video with Exalted One Brodie Lee walking us through how he was once downtrodden and beaten down but now he’s here before us and he wants one goon to stand up next to him. That goon bumbles, calling him Mr. Lee when he wants to be called Mr. Brodie and Lee throws a glass against the wall. Another masked goon yawns and Brodie berates him for showing weakness before warning him never to do it again and telling him to leave.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial we get a new pair of Dark Order goons making their entrance.
Dark Order (8 & 9) vs. Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall)
Marshall has the mask and he throws it at Dark Order guy before decking him! Tag to Rhodes, same deal, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, leapfrog scouted and Dustin drops him with a right hand! Arm drag into a wristlock, tag to QT. Whip across, knee strike, corkscrew senton atomico, only two. Drawing him up, tag made back to Rhodes, back suplex / neckbreaker combo but the other Dark Order guy breaks it up.
Dustin slams him to get him out of the ring, tag to Marshall, diving double axehandle, whip reversed, cheap shot from the apron and a lariat takes QT out! Whip into the corner, Dark Order working Marshall over, he gets a hot run and the tag! Rhodes running hot, lariats, off the ropes, drop down slap, Manhattan Drop into the bulldog! Duck a lariat, snap scoop powerslam!
Action to the floor, Dustin with a cannonball off the apron and QT throws a dive of his own! Throwing the goon back into the ring...
Natural Nightmares win by pinfall with a Dominator / sliding Ace Crusher combination.
Post-match, Brodie Lee makes his entrance and squares up with Rhodes briefly.
He heads into the ring and destroys one of his goons with a release powerbomb! Staring a hole in the other guy to make his point, Brodie takes his leave and we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a video package.
Jericho is in his hot tub and tells us today is a holiday, April Fool’s Day, which is held in honor of the Elite. He runs each man down in turn and we get footage from Vanguard 1 hovering overhead intercut with it. Chris jaws at the drone and reiterates his offer to let him join the Inner Circle, and he even has a Vanguard-sized t-shirt that he hangs on the drone.
Vanguard 1 flies away and refuses the offer, leading to Y2J to release the hounds! The hounds are several normal dogs. They all give chase but Vanguard flies away.
Commentary hypes up the TNT Championship tournament.
A video update on Nick Jackson follows.
He and Matt go to a ring they have set up on a tennis court somewhere and we get footage of them training and talking about Nick’s injury and how they can’t take life for granted and you have to live to your fullest. Nick doesn’t think he’s ready to return to active competition, however.
And we go to break.
Cody Rhodes & Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara & Shawn Spears
Cody heads to ringside before the bell and comes so very close to kissing Trent? before backing off and doing the boring hetero thing and kissing his wife. Lame.
Anyway, Allin and Guevara to start when we get a bell but Spears tags in and he wants Cody. Tag made, collar and elbow, struggle in the corner and Shawn gets a side headlock. Spears wrenches it in, Rhodes with a body blow, shot off, shoulder block, off the ropes and Cody decks him with a boot! Arm wringer, tag to Allin, he comes off the second with a double axehandle to the elbow!
Wrenching a wristlock on, Shawn breaks away with a forearm and tags a vlogging Guevara in. Sammy immediately tags out and Darby drops Spears off the apron! Giving chase around the ringside area, Guevara asks Brandi for a kiss and she just takes his phone away! Allin with a charging elbow, leaving Sammy laid out as Shawn comes charging around the corner!
Giving chase, throwing Darby back inside, slide low, roll through, big dropkick and a tag to Rhodes! Cody with the double leg, kick to the midsection, drop down slap for Guevara when he runs in! BABYFACES WITH STEREO DIVES! We gotta go to break!
Back from commercial, Guevara rams Allin into the corner and works him over. Quick tags, cutting him off, heels gambling on the match that they are in fact competing in. Delayed vertical, Spears gets ten seconds and tags Guevara in, who gets about sixteen and a nearfall out of the deal. Schoolboy after Shawn tags back in, two count, reverses a suplex into one of his own!
Darby’s path is clear, Sammy legal, running shooter star press but Darby counters into an Air Raid Crash?! Rhodes in hot, Beautiful Disaster clears the apron, snap scoop powerslam for two! Cody Cutter... SO CLOSE! Sharpshooter follows it up but Sammy gets the apron! Figure four leglock on Spears when he runs in and Guevara breaks it up with a shooting star press!
Springboard Ace Crusher of his own but Rhodes counters with Cross Rhodes! Spears pulls him out of the ring and throws him over the barricade! Darby dives on Shawn as the heels put boots to Cody at ringside to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Guevara chokes Rhodes over the ropes. Tags, working him over, corner punches but Cody slips under and drops him with right hands before hitting a moonsault off the top! Allin tags in, double dropkick, charging strikes, springboard double back elbow! Whip reversed, dropdown, low-bridge, suicide dive on Guevara! Another dive on Spears but he counters and throws Darby into the guardrail!
Suplex lift hangs him over the barricade, Sammy up top... missile dropkick to the barricade! Rhodes dives on both of ‘em! Back inside, Death Valley Driver from Shawn Spears on Cody but Allin is the legal man! Brawling with Rhodes on the floor... DARBY ALLIN TEN FEET HIGH— COFFIN DROP OFF THE SUPPORT BEAM LIKE IT’S EVOLVE AT THE ORPHEUM BABY!
He and Sammy jockey for position, Guevara knocks him down, inverted superplex from Cody takes him out and Shawn dives on him in turn! Sammy slides a chair in the ring, Allin takes it away but Guevara runs interference and Spears takes advantage...
Sammy Guevara & Shawn Spears win by pinfall with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights from Spears on Darby Allin.
Post-match, both babyfaces are visibly frustrated by their loss.
