MLW Roundup: King of KO, Hammerstone title defense, more!

Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion.

King of the knockout

The main event for Fusion will be Low Ki versus King Mo to determine the king of the knockout. After Dan Lambert demanded Low Ki have someone to throw in the towel, the preview mentions Ross Von Erich as Low Ki’s choice for cornerman. A wise pick. Ross has honor and won’t screw Low Ki.

Aside from the story, this will be a good test to gauge the future of King Mo. If he looks comfortable in the ring with a seasoned veteran in Low Ki, then the sky is the limit. If Mo looks awkward, then his future will probably be short bouts of ass kicking. MLW could make either scenario work, but it would open up a lot more doors if Mo’s talent can shine.

Alexander Hammerstone is scheduled to defend the National Openweight Championship. His dance partner will be T-Hawk of the Stronghearts. That should be one heck of a bout. It received an endorsement from Hammerman himself.

The third match to round out the card will be Brian Pillman Jr. getting his hands on a member of Injustice. This will be Pillman’s opportunity to silence loudmouth Jordan Oliver. It could also be a stepping stone toward a title contest against Middleweight Champion Myron Reed.

Who are you picking to win each contest?

MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Saturdays at 6:05 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, Africa, and France.

Quick hits

MLW reached a new TV deal for the Fight Klub channel in Poland. Fusion will begin airing this Spring.

King Mo was fined and suspended for his actions toward Killer Kross at the end of last week’s Fusion. That ruling was quickly lifted after Dan Lambert’s lawyers filed suit.

Logan Creed scored the lead for the film Gutcruncher. The Dynasty is trying to secure 15% of Creed’s paycheck through claims of discovering the big man. Creed scoffed at that idea.

Josef Samael may have leaked future plans for the Contra Unit in these times of the coronavirus.

MLW’s newsletter (sign up here) teased a new project from Alicia Atout, Injustice dropping tracks soon on SoundCloud, a new lady in the life of Gino Medina, and Colonel Robert Parker’s thwarted attempts at booking “unsanctioned wrestling contests on barges and steamships off of the port of Tampa Bay.” We need a documentary on that last item.

The newsletter also mentioned Mance Warner vs MJF in two weeks. It will be a loser leaves town fight. Being that it will take place in an empty arena, I wonder if MLW scored the services of MJF for one night during this coronavirus lockdown. If that is the case, then it would be pretty cool to see an entire episode of Fusion devoted to this match.

We’ll close with a highlight reel of Alexander Hammerstone. He’s more than massive muscles and a sweet tan.

I can’t wait until Hammer can match up with some giants, so he can truly channel the Hulkster. He is a real Hammerman, fights for the rights of every muscleman.
