The main event of Dynamite’s first episode without a live audience was a 6-man tag team match featuring The Elite (Cody, Hangman Page, Matt Jackson) versus The Inner Circle (Santana, Jake Hager, Ortiz). The winning team would secure the advantage in next week’s Blood & Guts match. Considering that Nick Jackson is already out of the picture for Blood & Guts, The Elite desperately needed the win here.
It culminated with a moment where Matt Jackson and Hangman Page actually worked well together in order to neutralize Jake Hager. They then tried to finish the match with an IndyTaker, but Page couldn’t complete the move when his leg was held down on the outside by Hager. Jackson was then rolled up by Santana for the three count.
After the match, Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle obnoxiously gloated about all of their advantages at Blood & Guts, and how The Elite was down a man due to the absence of Nick Jackson.
That’s when Vanguard 1 descended into the building, much to the consternation of the Inner Circle.
Matt Jackson said that The Elite was not outnumbered at Blood & Guts. He made a phone call to a friend who owed him a favor:
