MLW Roundup: Killer Kross debuts tonight on Fusion, Tom Lawlor signs with MMA promotion, more!

Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion. Killer Kross will be making his much anticipated MLW debut, Tom Lawlor is back to being a two-sport star, and the Dynasty did not have nice things to say about heading to Tijuana, Mexico for the MLW vs AAA show.

Killer Kross’ MLW debut

Killer Kross is jumping into the deep end of MLW’s talent pool. He is scheduled to wrestle Tom Lawlor on tonight’s episode of Fusion. To clarify, this episode was taped last month before Kross officially signed with WWE. There is no story for the bout other than two badasses getting bad with each other’s ass. It is a dream match for the sake of a good time.

Fusion will also have a title fight. Myron Reed will defend the Middleweight Championship against Laredo Kid. Konnan should be ringside to watch Laredo’s back from Injustice interfering.

Mance Warner’s path for revenge on the Dynasty begins in the ring across from Gino Medina. Warner and the Dynasty have never gotten along, but the Dynasty upped the intensity by pummeling Ole Mancer’s moonshine loving uncle, Moonman.

The official preview teases that Contra will reveal the whereabouts of CIMA after they carried him out in a body bag and Kevin Von Erich dropping knowledge on his sons.

This show sounds stacked. Wash all your worries away and tune in for some major league action.

MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Saturdays at 6:05 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, Africa, and France.

Quick hits

Tom Lawlor is getting back in MMA. He signed with Professional Fighters League (PFL). Lawlor will still continue his work with MLW. PFL is known for having tournaments with a prize of $1,000,000. Imagine if Lawlor wins and becomes MLW’s million dollar man. His first bout with PFL is expected for late Spring. Best of luck to the filthy one.

The MLW vs AAA joint card was filmed last night in Tijuana, Mexico. MLW talent put out a couple of promos on social media for the event.

Alexander Hammerstone wasn’t too pleased about returning south of the border. Without toilet paper, he had to use tortillas to wipe. There’s also a nice bonus tweet of MJF putting over his boi Hammer.

Fellow Dynasty mate Richard Holliday has been practicing his Spanish for the trip.

When it was time to cross the border, Holliday and Hammerstone tried a low-key approach. The MLW cameraman blew their hiding spot. It was revealed Holliday will defend the Caribbean Championship against Chessman.

Brian Pillman Jr. was also unhappy about the show. The date got in the way of his vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. At the end, Pillman rambled in Spanish with a French accent. Note: Language warning.

We’ll close with poetry from Josef Samael.

I hope MLW films a scene of Samael with Mexican pointy boots while in Tijuana. Jokes aside, that poem was pretty cool. It kind of feels like a possible backstory to how he got involved in the Contra Unit, especially the line, “I’ve removed those who did not belong.” If Contra ever turns good, their mission could be protecting professional wrestling.

Are you picking Kross or Lawlor to win on Fusion? What’s your guess on how Samael got involved with Contra?
