Rumor Roundup (Feb. 6, 2020): Sting/Undertaker, Rusev, MJF attack, NXT title change, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • TalkSport’s Alex McCarthy writes that it’s believed that if it happened, a Sting comeback match would be against Undertaker, and possibly at WrestleMania 36.
  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Rusev wasn’t on Raw this week because creative didn’t have anything for him. If nothing else, it’s another sign his program with Bobby Lashley & Lana is over.
  • The person who attacked MJF at the end of Dynamite looks to be a member of their roster, with many believing it was Frankie Kazarian.
  • WWE seems to have dropped plans to change the name of NXT’s Women’s title. This week on their website and on television, it was back to its original gender-specific name.
  • Add Amazon to the list of companies MLW is talking to about broadcast/streaming rights, according to PW Insider.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
