Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion.
LA Park returns
Tonight’s episode of Fusion marks the return of LA Park. He has been missing since his defeat against Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night SuperFight in November, but the feud with the Contra Unit will resume. Park and Hijo de LA Park will compete against Contra in MLW’s first lumberjack match. I’m curious if the lumberjacks will do their jobs. Some may be too scared of retaliation from Contra.
Also, questions have arisen about a falling out between Park and Salina de la Renta. If true, that would make the cupboards bare for Promociones Dorado. The show preview does not tease an appearance from the empresaria, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for Salina.
The other advertised match is Injustice versus Zenshi and Laredo Kid. That should be a fast-paced banger of a bout. Mance Warner, Tom Lawlor, and Konnan are scheduled to speak.
MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Saturdays at 6:05 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, Africa, and France.
Quick hits
The MLW news wire teased dissension among the Dynasty. MJF tweeted blame to Alexander Hammerstone for bringing in Grogan, who sold out to Mance Warner after one light beer. Sources say, “Most recently MJF blew off a Dynasty team tanning session which left Hammerstone vexed.” MJF is calling this story fake news. I lean toward siding with MJF, however, I can totally see Hammer being vexed due to his quest on achieving the elusive Hogan ‘91 tan. Tanning is no joke to Hammerman.
An update was provided about the health of Uncle Moonman. He was beat up by the Dynasty last week as a way to get back at Mance Warner. Moonman was transported to an animal hospital for treatment. Warner has vowed to cash in that receipt.
In case there is any confusion about Erick Stevens assisting Team Filthy against the Von Erichs, Stevens is a new member of Team Filthy. Fines have been issued for their actions in riling up the Dallas crowd by disrespecting the state flag and community service may be requested as extra punishment.
Keeping up with that mysterious Contra attack on Air Wolf, the global dealers of violence have been issued a fine by MLW. $7500 to each member is the price of Air Wolf’s career to MLW executives. Let’s hope Air Wolf sees some of that cash. MLW also suspended Jacob Fatu for 2 weeks. That was reduced from 2 months and has already been served. MLW caved when Fatu threatened to miss shows (in story). League officials scoffed at theories that Contra has infiltrated MLW’s executive level.
The latest luchador scheduled to debut for MLW in their partnership with AAA is Demus. Demus is set for Intimidation Games on April 18 in Chicago. He is a mini that is beefy yet agile. I’ve seen him a handful of times in AAA feuding with Mascarita Sagrada/Dorada. Demus has been a quality rudo in that feud. LA Park and Hijo de LA Park have also been announced for Intimidation Games.

Alexander Hammerstone is getting bigger, muscularly and with nicknames. Hammer also goes by Your Boy Hammer, The Beefcastle, The Flexecutioner, Big Poppa Ham, Das WaffleWunderkind, Gasmaster, and Muscle Mountain. That last nickname has earned a marvelous shirt.
I don’t think I’m jumping the gun when I say this might be the greatest wrestling shirt ever released. Now available at https://t.co/lwPbgqhaLu pic.twitter.com/bcRUUCmkBJ
