Rumor Roundup (Feb. 28, 2020): Saudi travel, WWE Wellness policy, Daniel Bryan, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Unlike the Crown Jewel nightmare last November, Ryan Satin reported that WWE’s plane left Riyadh without issue after Super ShowDown.
  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE Wellness suspensions. Vince McMahon is one of the only people who knows about them before the public announcement. He will “will do whatever Vince does”, including waiting months between the failed test and the suspension.
  • Heath Slater and Drew Gulak have been used on SmackDown recently because Daniel Bryan suggested they be used in his storyline. That’s from a report from that says Bryan pitches a lot of his own angles, and though they’re not always used, he’s well respected and can get a job behind-the-scenes at WWE after he retires if he wants it.
  • The site also says there’s talk of doing Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus at WrestleMania 36 to play off their 18 second match in 2012.
  • Kris Statlander had to pull out of her booking with Bar Wrestling last night because of the flu, but it’s not believed she’ll miss Revolution tomorrow.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
