Sting debuted for AEW on last week’s Dynamite, where it was also announced that he signed a multi-year contract with Tony Khan’s promotion.
On this week’s (Dec. 9) episode, The Icon spoke on TNT for the first time in nearly 20 years. He interrupted a Cody Rhodes talking segment to make his presence known.
Sting’s first words were to ask Tony Schiavone for a hug. He wanted to hear Tony’s trademark “It’s Sting!” call, and got his wish. Sting pointed out Darby Allin silently looking on from the rafters and said that it’s a very familiar sight, calling back to his own time in the rafters in WCW.
Sting got down to serious business shortly after that. He plans to stick around AEW for a very long time. But the only thing for sure about Sting is that nothing is for sure. He said that he’s not here for Cody, at least not yet. Addressing Cody with a brief embrace, the Stinger then said, “See you around, kid.”
With that, the legend departed from the ring.
The only thing for sure about @sting...is nothing is for sure.
