AEW’s “Holiday Bash” edition of Dynamite opened with Top Flight taking on Chris Jericho and MJF in a tag team match. Would Darius and Dante Martin somehow pull off a huge upset against The Inner Circle’s two top stars?
Despite being the clear favorites, the heels still resorted to taking shortcuts. Jake Hager got physically involved on their behalf when the referee was distracted and helped his stablemates secure the win.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Jericho’s Inner Circle. After the match was over, Hager got on the mic and called out Wardlow for being the only member of the Inner Circle who isn’t doing his job. This is the second week in a row where Wardlow is absent and not making the Inner Circle a priority. Hager acknowledged that Wardlow is an asset to the Inner Circle, but he’s also an asshole. Hager won’t stand for this nonsense any longer, and was granted a match with Wardlow next week (Dec. 30) on night one of AEW’s New Year’s Smash.
.@RealJakeHager asked @TonyKhan for the match and he got it. LIVE on Night 1 of the New Year's Smash it's #JakeHager vs. @RealWardlow.
