Sting signs a multi-year contract with AEW and makes his shocking debut

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite (Dec. 2) featured a tag team match pitting Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin against Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks. The babyfaces eventually prevailed with a Coffin Drop from Allin on Starks, but of course the heels couldn’t leave things alone there.

Team Taz put a beating on not just Cody and Allin, but on Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes too. Things looked bleak for the babyfaces, and Anderson was particularly vulnerable. That’s when the lights went out, and something crazy happened...Sting showed up in AEW!

Sting’s presence saved Arn and Cody from a further beating. They couldn’t believe what they had just seen. Everyone was shocked, including the fans in attendance. After 18 years away, Sting’s return to TNT was treated by the commentators as one of the biggest moments in the history of Dynamite.

After Sting’s debut, AEW didn’t wait too long to announce that they have signed Sting to a multi-year contract.
