As promised, Sting appeared on the Dec. 16 episode of AEW Dynamite. And as they should, The Icon’s motives remained fairly mysterious.
He’s still hovering around Cody Rhodes. After the former TNT champion won his first singles match since losing the belt to Darby Allin, pinning Angelico with the Cody Cutter, Team Taz arrived to congratulate Rhodes on the news of his impending fatherhood. Ricky Starks, Brian Cage and Powerhouse Hobbs were all set to send Cody off to “paternity leave” when the lights came down and we heard Tony Schiavone cry out “It’s Sting!”
#TeamTaz tried to crash the party of @CodyRhodes. But, @Sting was the one to silence everyone.— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) December 17, 2020

Hobbs was itching to show Sting that he’s a powerhouse, but Taz thought better of it.
Does that wink the Stinger gave Cody mean I’ve got your back, I’m coming for you, or both? What are we to make of current TNT champion Darby Allin watching for the upper deck?
Intrigue is good, especially when it comes to The Icon.
