The main event angle on last week’s episode of Dynamite saw Will Hobbs turn heel and join Team Taz. On this week’s (Nov. 25) episode, Hobbs was set for action in a squash match to show off his new attitude and impressive strength.
But that’s not the only thing new about him. It turns out that WWE isn’t the only wrestling company that likes to mess around with names of the wrestlers. AEW’s social media has featured several graphics where Will is referred to as “Powerhouse Hobbs.” The commentators then called him “Powerhouse Hobbs” multiple times throughout his television appearance.
The name “Will Hobbs” was still used on the broadcast a few times, so the first name Will has not been eliminated from existence. At the very least, it appears that “Powerhouse” will be a new nickname that’s primarily used to refer to Hobbs going forward.
Do you think the new name is a good fit for Hobbs?
