AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 25
I know when to go out and when to stay in, get things done. I catch a paper boy but things don’t really change, I’m standing in the wind but I never wave bye-bye. But I try to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens into the intro video.
John Silver gets an inset promo where he puts Adam Page over but says he’s going to win because “Johnny hungy.”
“Hangman” Adam Page vs. John Silver
Silver wants a fistbump, Hangman doesn’t go for it, collar and elbow. Wristlock from Page, reversed to a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, off the ropes, shoulder block, drop down, leapfrog caught into a body slam! Off the ropes again, Silver with a tilt-a-whirl arm drag and a dropkick and he flexes in Page’s face!
Adam fires back a rolling elbow, a chop sends John into the corner and he follows it up with more! The Meat Man turns him around, whip across, back body drop puts Silver on his back! Up and over, waistlock, standing switch, the Raw Dog spanks Page on his bottom! Tossed to the apron, he cuts off the triangle lariat and heads up top for a diving crossbody that gets one!
Hangman is on the back foot as Silver backs him into the corner. Trading chops, chest kicks from the Meat Man! Page firing chops that crack out across the arena, whip reversed, back elbow from John lays him out and gets him a two count! Back and forth, bridging German suplex gets Silver another nearfall! Charging in, back body drop to the apron, this time Page gets the triangle lariat!
The Meat Man dodges a plancha, tope misses, this time Hangman hits the plancha! Back inside, Page gets a tight nearfall, looking for a powerbomb or perhaps a piledriver but Silver fights out. Diving crossbody, caught into a fallaway slam, kip-up into a standing shooting star press... THE RAW DOG KICKS OUT!
Thinking Buck Shot, countered into a Hurricanrana... NO DICE! Basement superkick, brainbuster, Silver running hot... BUT ADAM PAGE WILL NOT STAY DOWN! More chest kicks from John, he puts Page off the ropes and into an elbow strike! Backslide, Silver slips out, kicks connect but Hangman hits a wicked lariat and follows it up with a Liger Bomb... NO GOOD!
Hangman goes to the apron and slingshots in...
“Hangman” Adam Page wins by pinfall with Buckshot.
The Dark Order come to the ring and Evil Uno gets on the mic.
He says they’re not here to jump Page and they have many regrets about how they’ve acted. And he’s sure that Hangman has his own regrets. Sure, he’s hit the soaring heights of being tag champion, but when he wanted to leave, the Elite wouldn’t let him go, and that’s a cult. He knows Page doesn’t have many people to rely on right now, but Uno and his friends are here for him, and he knows where to find them.
Kenny Omega is interviewed backstage.
He says he’s had a lot of time to reflect and it might sound cliche, but he’s come to the conclusion that the more things change, the more they stay the same. A year ago, almost to the date, he was nursing injuries that he got from Jon Moxley, and he’ll admit it. They’re about to do the dance again, but instead of him, he sees Mox’s face plastered everywhere and people call him the best in the world.
But after the #1 contender’s tournament, suddenly the Best Bout Machine is back as the true best in the world, and the common thread that binds them is what Jon has and he doesn’t, the AEW World Championship. Kenny has clawed and scraped his way back to the top, and it won’t be until he gets that belt that he’ll be considered the best.
So, it’s not a stipulation but rather a challenge— for one night only, Jon Moxley, leave the garbage wrestling at home. Pin him, make him submit, hell, choke him out, but do it in the ring with your own ability. He closes by going off on a tangent about how his dad would beat the shit out of Mox’s dad.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get another promo package from Darby Allin.
He smashes up a car and invites Team Taz to survive if he lets them, before setting the car on fire.
Lee Johnson vs. “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs
Johnson makes a valiant effort but this is a squash...
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs wins by pinfall with a World’s Strongest Slam.
Post-match, Taz gets on the mic with Hobbs and tells him to go celebrate his win while he takes care of business.
Taz continues, saying he’s got a problem and that’s that AEW is not acknowledging the FTW Championship. He’s sick and tired of Team Taz and the FTW lifestyle being disrespected, so he’s not leaving the ring until someone from management comes out and takes the title and makes it mean something.
His mic gets cut but he calls ring announcer Justin Roberts up and demands that he give him his mic. He grabs it and says if this one gets cut, he’s gonna go to the announce desk and get a headset— and he gets his mic cut again.
This brings Cody Rhodes out with a live mic and he says he’s coming out here with total respect and Taz is wasting time.
Next week they can leave it in the ring because it’s gonna be him and Darby Allin against Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks. That’s not enough for Taz, though, he wants management to give the FTW title the respect it deserves, and he’s tired of this shit. Cody says he’s here from management and he’s listening, so how about this? He’ll run it up the flagpole.
Taz asks what’s next, will creative have nothing for him? Best of luck in his future endeavors? This gets Cody to come back in the ring and he asks Taz if the FTW title is so great, why is Taz’s son training at Rhodes’ school and not with Taz? Taz is shocked and he calls Cody pathetic, teling him that was stupid.
He walks away but comes right back and locks the Tazmission on Cody! HE CHOKES RHODES OUT IN THE TAZMISSION! Taz’s son Hook comes from ringside and grabs the FTW Championship, leaving with his dad while Dustin Rhodes and Billy Gunn check on Cody.
Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw, because it ruled.
Eddie Kingston is interviewed backstage.
He says he’s not mad at Pentagon, he’s just really, really, really disappointed. Rey Fenix is a showboat and he kinda expected that from him, but not from Penta. PAC wants a battle, not the war, so this is gonna keep going until he’s satisfied—
Enter Jon Moxley.
He squares up with Eddie and Eddie laughs at him, telling him he’s got his own stuff to handle and he knows it wasn’t him beat Mox down last week.
TH2 (Angelico & Jack Evans) vs. Top Flight (“Air Wolf” Darius & “Angel Dorado” Daunte Martin)
Angelico and Darius to start, collar and elbow, a little bit of lucha business before Wolf gets fired up and backs him into the corner! Turned around, boot up, sunset flip, roll through, Angelico with a test of strength, reversed, arm drags into an armbar! Tag to Daunte, off the ropes, leapfrog, arm drag into a dropkick, cover for two!
Off the ropes, leapfrogs, Angelico outfoxes Dorado and kicks his leg out from under him! Tag to Evans, whip across into a leaping kick and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Top Flight are rolling and Darius gets a dropkick! Whip reversed, tag from Daunte, Evans with right hands, handspring elbow, Dorado slingshots in, waistlock, elbows from his brother, rolling Jack back, double-team powerbomb but Angelico makes the save! Jockeying for position on the apron, an enzuigiri sends one of TH2 crashing into the other, Wolf with a suicide dive, Dorado with a tope con giro!
Back inside, TH2 rally, assisted standing 450 splash... NOT ENOUGH! Angelico with a powerbomb lift, Daunte slips out, Yoshi Tonic to reverse... EVANS BREAKS IT UP! Nobody home on a dropkick to the floor from Wolf, Jack pulls him out to slam him on the floor, Angelico traps Dorado, spinning inverted figure four leglock... IT’S OVER!
TH2 win by submission with a spinning inverted figure four leglock from Angelico on Daunte Martin.
Post-match, Angelico refuses to break the hold but the Young Bucks come down to make the save!
Vickie Guerrero and Nyla Rose are backstage.
Vickie cuts a promo about nepotism, calling Brandi Rhodes out for her undue influence on the women’s division, and contrasting that to how she doesn’t need to influence Nyla Rose nor Jade Cargill.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a video package where FTR are basically talking about how their dream match against the Young Bucks became a nightmare and they’re comin’ for the titles again.
Inner Circle (Chris Jericho & Jake Hager) vs. SCU (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)
Jericho and Daniels to start, a little bit of light brawling, tag to Kazarian, kick, northern lariat, stomp to the back, only two! Hager tags in and lights Frankie up in the corner until referee Aubrey Edwards counts him off! Quick tags, the Inner Circle starting in on a heat segment, but soon enough Chris tags in and lights Jake up!
Falling northern lariat gets a deep two for this early in the match, front kick, elbows, but Hager hits a big slam and dumps the Fallen Angel out of the ring! The Inner Circle put boots to Daniels as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Daniels is crawling for the tag but Jericho cuts him off and tags Hager in as the heat segment rolls on. Suffocating Chris, staying on him, but he gets a reverse STO off and the path is clear! The match breaks down, back and forth, diving crossbody from a revitalized Daniels for two! Hager in, big lariat, the Fallen Angel hits a diving reverse STO and Jake is dead weight!
Headed up top, Best Moonsault Ever... Y2J BREAKS IT UP! Kazarian comes in, referee Aubrey Edwards warns him off, MJF hits Daniels with the ring, Jericho adds Judas Effect, Hager covers...
Inner Circle win by pinfall with a lateral press from Jake Hager on Christopher Daniels.
Post-match, Kazarian lays MJF out with a punch and the Inner Circle alight on SCU, beating them down! Scorpio Sky makes the save, steel chair in hand!
Kip Sabian, Miro, and Penelope Ford are in a nice room to debut their new video game show.
Orange Cassidy turns the console off and they brawl with Best Friends! Sabian gets powerbombed into the side of a portable toilet and the brawl continues even after Miro accosts the camera man and we lose the feed!
Tony Schiavone is in the ring for take two of the contract signing for Jon Moxley’s title defense against Kenny Omega next week...
BUT JON MOXLEY BEATS OMEGA DOWN WHILE HE’S BEHIND THE SCREEN FOR HIS ENTRANCE! HE TAKES OMEGA TO THE RING AND THROWS HIM OVER THE TABLE! Belt in hand, Mox lays it in front of Kenny and steps on his hand when he tries to grab the title! LIFTING PARADIGM SHIFT ON THE TITLE BELT!
Moxley gets on the mic and says the only way that Omega becomes AEW World Champion is if he digs down deep in his guts and finds the Kenny Omega that everyone thinks he is, and climbs a mountain that nobody’s been able to climb in eighteen months. Win, lose, or draw, winter is coming for Kenny, and this isn’t a game.
It ain’t jokes on BTE, it ain’t dancing girls on brooms, when you come at the king, you best not miss, because he don’t take prisoners. Steady your hand, aim, and take your shot, because you’re only gonna get one. Moxley signs the contract and it’s official!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, the Inner Circle are interviewed backstage.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman screams at Frankie Kazarian, calling him a coward for sucker punching him. Chris Jericho defends their victory over SCU as fair and square and says he’s gonna make Kazarian famous, because next week, they’re gonna have a match and he’s gonna get revenge for him putting his hands on MJF and end his career.
Anna Jay vs. Hikaru Shida (c) (AEW Women’s World Championship)
Collar and elbow, a shoving match breaks out, Shida with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block , roll over, Jay with a waistlock and into a sleeper hold! Hikaru slips out, pushes her into the corner, punches, whip reversed, up and over. Whip reversed, again up and over, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from the champ!
Off the ropes, dropkick, action to the floor and Anna takes over, whipping her between apron and barricade and delivering vicious overhand chops! With Jay in control, we go to break.
Back from commercial, Jay hits a running neckbreaker and asks Tay Conti to pass her a chair, but referee Rick Knox is right there! Knox takes the chair, John Silver rushes in and gives her a kendo stick and she takes Shida out at the knee... SO CLOSE! The Queenslayer is locked in! Hikaru fighting it, she rolls out of it, elbow to the back of the head!
Anna Jay reverses a brainbuster into a neckbreaker... NO GOOD! Straitjacket German suplex from the champ, another forearm to the back of the head for a nearfall! Lining her up, off the ropes...
Hikaru Shida wins by pinfall with the sliding knee to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Post-match, Abadon crawls out of the entrance and takes the title belt, licking it!
Matt Hardy cuts a promo where he puts himself over as a trailblazer and says he’s decided to inspire us all to fight on after a tough 2020.
If he can overcome insurmountable odds, we can overcome our pedestrian challenges, and if we’re ready to give up, we should just ask ourselves what Matt Hardy would do. The answer, of course, is survive, thrive, and win!
Team Taz gets a promo.
Ricky Starks talks about how they love it here in AEW and Tony Khan treats them great, but Cody Rhodes and his paper-thin ego keep getting in their way.
Commentary hypes up next week’s show.
Eddie Kingston makes his entrance with Butcher and the Blade and the Bunny. Eddie joins the commentary desk and we go to break.
Back from commercial, PAC and Rey Fenix make their entrance and we get a brawl before the bell!
Butcher and the Blade (Andy “Butcher” Williams & Pepper “Blade” Parks) vs. Death Triangle (PAC & Rey Fenix)
Fenix and Butcher get in the ring and referee Bryce Remsburg calls for the bell! PAC in, missile dropkick from Rey, stereo dives from the Death Triangle lads! Back inside, Williams lays the Bastard out with a crossbody and drags him over for the tag. Assisted Karelin lift, clear the apron, PAC floats over and tags Fenix in!
Cover for two, Fenix with a wacky lucha armbar, Parks fighting out of it so Rey shifts gears and hammers him with elbows! Tag to the Bastard, putting Pepper in the corner, hammer whip across, paintbrushing the back of the Blade’s head and they end up trading forearms in the middle of the ring! Charging shots, a front kick gets a lariat out of Parks!
The Butcher swats Fenix out of midair but eats a hard crescent kick! He swats Rey’s springboard headbutt down but PAC lays him out with a superkick! All four men down and out as Bryce counts and we go to break!
Back from commercial, PAC gets a nearfall on Parks. Pepper with desperation punches, the Bastard off the ropes with a kick, taking the Blade to his corner and tagging Fenix in. Spinning Hot Shot from the Blade and he tags Williams in! Back suplex lift droppped into a chokeslam, or as one of the Pillars of Heaven and Earth once called it... ORE GA TAUE!
Butcher and the Blade working Fenix over for a beat but he gets a handspring Ace Crusher on Pepper! Tag to PAC, blast Butcher off the apron, kicks and knees into a single leg dropkick to crumple Parks! Up and over in the corner, slingshot back inside for an enziugiri, northern lights suplex into the bridge... SO CLOSE!
The Bastard heads up top, shooting star press, nobody home, he rolls through but Pepper hits a Buzz Sawyer powerslam! Double-team gutbuster, Blade with a Doctor Bomb... FENIX BREAKS IT UP WITH A DROPKICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Butcher dumps Rey to the stage, PAC floats over a waistlock, tandem strikes on PArks, Eddie Kingston comes to ringside as the match breaks down!
Eddie trips Fenix up while the Bunny keeps referee Bryce Remsburg occupied...
Butcher and the Blade win by pinfall with a powerbomb / neckbreaker combination on Rey Fenix.
Eddie and the boys continue beating Death Triangle down as Bunny gets a chair and brings it to Kingston.
He draws PAC up... DDT ON THE CHAIR! Eddie decides another one is called for... AND HITS IT! He goes for a third but Lance Archer makes the save?! Jake “the Snake” Roberts is right behind him as he beats on Andy Williams and then lays both Andy and Eddie out with one crossbody! Goozle on the War King, Williams from behind, Death Triangle wake up and we get chaos!
Kingston bails, Fenix checks on PAC, and Archer stares Eddie down from the turnbuckles.
That’s the show, folks.
