Tonight’s (Oct. 28) episode of Dynamite began with a semifinal match in the World Title Eliminator tournament: Hangman Page vs. Wardlow. The winner advances to the final match of the tournament, which takes place at Full Gear on Nov. 7.
When the tournament bracket was first revealed, it looked like an obvious setup for Hangman Page vs. Kenny Omega in the finals at Full Gear. But would AEW throw an unexpected swerve into the mix?
Well, so far it doesn’t look like there will be any crazy twists or turns. Hangman Page survived Wardlow’s power onslaught, and then finished the athletic big man off with two Buckshot Lariats in order to qualify for the finals.
Considering that Kenny Omega’s opponent tonight in the semifinals, Penta El Zero M, has already lost once in this tournament, it seems clear where this is going. Hangman Page is now awaiting his former tag team partner to hold up his end of the bargain and meet him at Full Gear.
