AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 21

I reign with my left hand, I rule with my right, I’m lord of all darkness, I’m queen of the night... I’ve got the power to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. Wardlow (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament)

Waistlock, standing switch, Wardlow takes him down but Perry fires off a big slap in return! Duck a lariat, forearms to the face, jumping into more punches, Mr. Mayhem catches him, he slips out and hammers him but Wardlow stays on his feet! Slide under, dropkick the knee, dropkick the face, he’s got Mr. Mayhem on the run!

Charging in, back body drop puts Jungle Boy on the apron and he lands a kick before low-bridging Wardlow to the floor! Plancha, caught, fireman’s carry, Jack slips out, superkick from the apron! Diving, Frankensteiner attempt, Wardlow catches him... POWERBOMB INTO THE RINGPOST! Back inside, Mr. Mayhem throwing Jungle Boy around, huge toss suplex!

Boots up from the corner, Wardlow cuts him off with a Doctor Bomb... NOPE! Drawing him up, Frankensteiner counter blocked, Perry lands on his feet but Mr. Mayhem runs him over with a lariat for two! Hoisting Jack up, setting him up top, goozle, thumbs up but Perry fights out of it! Big knee strike, sidestep the charge, back elbow, front elbow, boots up!

Up top, missile dropkick to the back sends Wardlow sprawling out of the ring! Another dropkick cuts him off, off the ropes, suicide dive puts him into the barricade! Back inside, inside out springboard tornado DDT gets Jungle Boy a two count! Up top, jockeying for position, Jack counters with the avalanche Frankensteiner!

Lungblower out of the corner, Perry up top, diving double knees... SO CLOSE! To the apron, Wardlow catches him... F-10 BACK INSIDE! Slow and steady, he comes back inside, fireman’s carry him again...

Wardlow wins by pinfall with the F-10.

Commentary hypes up the rest of tonight’s show for us.

We get a replay of some post-show commments from Eddie Kingston from last week, wherein he berated an unconscious Jon Moxley for selling out, for telling him the inmates were gonna run the asylum and then leaving him behind with only pro wrestling to screw him over and over.

This segues to the news that Moxley vs. Kingston in an “I Quit” Match for the world title has been booked for Full Gear next month.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a Jon Moxley promo.

He talks about how much he loves Eddie Kingston and wants the best for him in the pro wrestling business, but he thought he would never change and he’s changed. Mox won’t apologize for his success, and he was proud to share the ring with him in September but he’s ashamed of him now and he’s going to end this at Full Gear.

He’s going to beat and torture Eddie until he either gets his friend back or ends him.

Kenny Omega vs. Sonny Kiss (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament)

Kenny Omega gets a ridiculously big entrance with Justin Roberts reading off every last accolade he’s ever earned and dancing girls, it’s wacky.

Handshake, Omega with a V-Trigger, electric chair...

Kenny Omega wins by pinfall with One-Winged Angel.

Backstage, Orange Cassidy is interviewed by Tony Schiavone.

He says sometimes matches go your way and sometimes they don’t, and is generally uninterested, as is his wont.

Cody Rhodes is interviewed as he shows up to the arena.

He says he doesn’t think Orange can beat him next week, and says he’s bulking up to be able to compete better with heavyweights like Jake Hager, Lance Archer, and Mr. Brodie Lee.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a response from Eddie Kingston to Jon Moxley’s promo from earlier.

He’s cry laughing but first he wants to go to his family members. Pentagon and Fenix are in the #1 contender’s tourney and they’re gonna show us why they’re the best luchadors ever to do it. Then you got Butcher and the Blade later tonight, they’re gonna win the tag team four-way and take FTR out, and then they can call their old bosses and beg them to take them back.

Now to Jon, what he said was true, but he had to become bitter and angry and a snake, and do you think he looks himself in the mirror? No! He hates who he’s become, but he had to become this because his ends justify his means, and when he wasn’t a snake he got nothing, but now he’s getting a world title shot in an “I Quit” Match.

He’s never quit at anything in his life, and he’s not going to quit at Full Gear. Mox is gonna have to go to a deep, dark place, and Eddie lives in that place.

Penta el Zero M vs. Rey Fenix (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Eddie Kingston joins us on commentary for this one.

Mat grappling to start, then right into some light lucha, trading arm drags, fancy roll-through into an ankle lock from Penta to start grinding an advantage out! Roll through, pass aside, package piledriver attempt, Fenix slips out, jockeying for position, handspring caught, slip out, solebutt from Pentagon!

Back and forth, stalemate, the brothers getting macho about it, trading chops, Rey dives and Penta cuts him out of mid-air with a superkick! Action to the floor, Fenix off the top with a double jump tornillo! Back inside, rope-walk, Penta pulls the top rope down and trips him up to send us to break!

Back from commercial, trading kicks, Penta hits the Sling Blade... NOPE! Big Frankensteiner, both men slowing down, Fenix plants his brother with a superkick... SO CLOSE! Pulling Penta face-first into the turnbuckles, springboard cut off with a leg kick, Pentagon climbs up after him, jockeying for position... SPRINGBOARD SPANISH FLY OFF THE TOP ISN’T ENOUGH TO KEEP PENTA DOWN!

Pentagon with a wild nearfall of his own, Ode to Jim Breaks applied... ARMBREAKER! Back and forth, Rey gets it...

Rey Fenix wins by pinfall with a flip piledriver.

And so we go to break.

Backstage, Colt Cabana and the Beaver Boys are interviewed.

They talk about how they’re going to win their matches tonight.

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Colt Cabana (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Page with the advantage in the feeling out, Cabana cuts him off with an elbow but Hangman boots him down and hits a shooting star for a nearfall! Chops into the corner, whip reversed, back body drop, to the floor, plancha, back in, cover for two sends us to break.

Back from commercial, Page with a fallaway slam, a shoving match breaks out, Cabana with right hands, Flip Flop & Fly! Whip reversed, Colt goes under but Hangman squeezes his legs to cut him off! Bodyscissors pin to counter, Flying Asshole connects but Adam catches him into a bridging German suplex... NOT ENOUGH!

A forearm sends Cabana to the floor, but he recovers and shoves Page off the top and back-first into the apron! Diving splash follows it up, back inside, off the top, nobody home on the diving headbutt! Tenryu Powerbomb from Page... NO DICE! Jockeying for position, Page slips out, Buckshot but nobody’s home, Cabana with the Superman pin... SO CLOSE!

To the apron, fakeout...

“Hangman” Adam Page wins by pinfall with Buckshot.

We get a Sammy Guevara vignette to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Team Taz is on the stage.

Taz is on the mic talking about offering Will Hobbs a spot in the stable and demanding an answer quickly, lest he sic the Machine on him again. This segues into a story where Tony Khan called him into his office to talk to him about how Ricky Starks would have gotten the TNT Championship match at Full Gear if he had beaten Darby Allin.

Taz complains further, asking what his boys get. Starks gets on the mic and says somebody has to pay, and that somebody is Darby. He doesn’t know when or where, but on everything he loves, when they meet again, he’s putting Allin in the grave. He calls him a “half-facepainted little bitch” to conclude the promo.

Now it’s time for Chris Jericho and Maxwell Jacob Friedman to have their date.

MJF orders a steak well-done with a baked potato on the side and Y2J orders the same thing but cooked medium well. Friedman changes his order and gets his steak medium instead. Jericho sees his bet and goes with medium rare. Max, naturally, ups the ante to rare, and Jericho wants his steak blue, extra bloody rare.

Chris asks what they’re doing here, and MJF wants to cut through the bull. They’re the two biggest stars in wrestling and they should be working together. Jericho says the Ratings Ruler sucks and has about as much chance of getting over as Orange Cassidy, a name which Max says at the same time and they laugh.

They break out into song, a curtain opens to reveal some dancing girls as they sing about how close they are. The song finished up, they go back to their seats in time for their steaks to be delivered essentially raw. They’re both disgusted and call for their waitress to send them back.

And so we go to break.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. KiLynn King

Collar and elbow, Baker with a side headlock, reversed to an arm wringer, Britt with a snapmare but King gets a wristlock. Baker keeping wrist control, KiLynn with a drop toehold into a hammerlock. Britt to her feet, fireman’s carry takeover, slide over and looking for Lockjaw but she counters to a pin!

Superkick blocked, ripcord arm drag but Baker rolls through into a surfboard stomp! Cravate knees, King reverses with forearms in the ropes. Waistlock pin from the good doctor, overhead elbows, whip reversed, Britt with a reverse STO into the turnbuckles! Wrenching her into the post, kick to the face, double stomp from the apron into a kick to the head!

Back inside while Rebel throws King back in, counter, roundhouse kick connects, waistlock, running neckbreaker connects! Baker with a DDT, fisherman neckbreaker, she gets a latex glove from Rebel...

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD wins by submission with Lockjaw.

Commentary hypes next week’s show up as well as hitting the booked matches for Full Gear up for our consideration, including a newly-signed Elite Deletion between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara.

We get a video of Darby Allin hanging out with Steve-O, which just makes sense.

Darby gets in a body bag and rolls himself down a half pipe, which I mean, what else are you gonna do when you’re hanging out with Steve-O?

Butcher and the Blade (and the Bunny!) make their entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, FTR have joined the commentary booth.

Butcher and the Blade (Andy Williams & Pepper Parks) vs. Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) (AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Nick and Reynolds to start, Jackson with a dropkick that leads to Silver tagging in. Arm drag, armbar, tag to Matt, the Bucks start going after John’s arm. Soon enough Kassidy tags in, fancy gymnastics to get away from Jackson, tijeras, upkick, stereo kip-ups! Up and over in the corner, fakeout the superkick and tag Quen in.

Superkick Party denied and the Bucks offer a handshake... PRIVATE SUPERKICK PARTY! The other two teams come in, the match breaks down. Action settling, Marq running hot and fending off Kingston’s boys and the Dark Order in turn. Dive on the Blade and on Silver, senton atomico off the top lays Reynolds out!

Scoop and a slam on Parks, Quen goes up top, shooting star press... BUTCHER BREAKS IT UP! Big side slam sends us to break.

Back from commercial, Silver misses a double stomp, but the Dark Order boys double-team Quen until the Bucks break it up! Drawing him up, he fights out of a suplex attempt, enzuigiri takes Silver out, roll under, tag to Kassidy! Slingshot in, pass to the apron... SILLY STRING! Isiah heads up top, diving leg drop / splash combo but again the Bucks break it up!

Butcher and the Blade dump the Bucks, straight suplex into a lungblower... STILL THE YOUNG BUCKS WON’T LET THE MATCH END! Tags made, Nick running hot on the Beavers with kicks, clear the ring, to the apron, Penalty Kicks from Private Party! Up top... CORKSCREW SENTON ATOMICO WIPES BUTCHER AND THE BLADE OUT!

SUPERKICK PARTY! ASSISTED PILEDRIVER! DARK ORDER BREAK IT UP! Kassidy with a small package for two, Matt charges him out of the corner, sidestep, but no tag! Isiah with an upkick, Nick denying him every chance for a tag, Meltzer Driver denied, victory roll, Matt reverses...

Young Bucks win by pinfall with a victory roll pin on one of the Private Party lads to become #1 contender to the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

Post-match, FTR come in the ring to toast the Bucks, who slap the beers out of their hands! A masked man attacks from behind with a steel chair and FTR beat the Young Bucks down! THE MASKED MAN HEADS UP TOP AND HELPS THEM HIT THE SPIKE PILEDRIVER ON NICK! They beat Matt down and wrap the chair around his leg... PILLMANIZER!

IT’S TULLY BLANCHARD UNDER THE MASK!

They champs and their manager stand tall as Matt writhes in agony and Nick bleeds from the nose.

Referees come to ringside as a scuffle breaks out, but Matt’s in no shape to fight and it sputters out.

That’s the show, folks.
