Here’s NXT’s update on Finn Bálor and the title

The main event of TakeOver 31 was fantastic. It was also costly, putting both Finn Bálor and Kyle O’Reilly on NXT’s Injury Report.

They reported Kyle O’Reilly had a swollen liver. Luckily, he will be cleared to return next week. He announced such tonight.

Finn Bálor underwent surgery for his fractured jaw last Friday.

The update McKenzie Mitchell gave us tonight doesn’t say much. In fact, it’s rather non-committal. Finn is recovering and General Manager William Regal said he’s going to take a couple weeks to see how the champ is doing before he makes a decision regarding the gold.

It really sounds like they’re going to do anything they can to avoid stripping him of the title. And that’s understandable. Karrion Kross had to relinquish the title just a couple months ago. With no one ready to slot in to that spot, may as well give the Prince time.

Hopefully in those couple weeks, the realize he’s not far out, and he doesn’t have to relinquish his second major title.
