Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:

- On an audio show in PW Insider’s subscription-only Elite section, Mike Johnson stood by his story about Edge returning to WWE, depite Edge’s recent denials. Johnson said he’d be “shocked” if Edge isn’t “back on WWE programming by this time next week”.
- Naomi will be in Houston this weekend, reports PW Insider. She’s expected to start working on SmackDown soon, and the site theorizes she’ll return in the Royal Rumble match.
- New Japan’s Lance Archer is in in “high-level talks” with AEW, according to Sports Illustrated.
- A script for a movie chronicling the rise and fall of the Von Erichs is in the works, per Deadline.
