AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JAN. 22
Look into my eyes, I’ve seen it all. Hand in hand, together we fall. We’ll sing and dance and we’ll find romance and we’ll stroll to the edge of the world. Come sit right down, lay your head on my shoulder, and I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with commentary pointing out that we’re on a boat and hyping up tonight’s action on a boat.
”Hangman” Adam Page & Kenny Omega vs. SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) (c) (AEW World Tag Team Championship Match On a Boat)
Kazarian and Page to start, collar and elbow, Hangman gets him in the ropes and referee Paul Turner calls for the break. Back to the lockup, Frankie with a waistlock, Adam sits down and rolls through to reverse to one of his own. Kazarian grabs a side headlock, takeover gets the headscissors counter but the second try he’s able to block and stop him short on a boat.
Block the shoot off, second try connects, shoulder block and Frankie goes right back to the side headlock. Page to his feet, elbows and a back suplex to escape and he clocks Kazarian with a hard elbow! Frankie fires back, stereo lariats and neither man budges an inch! Solebutt and a lariat pull Kazarian back in and Sky makes the tag. Trading strikes, duck a lariat, and they get into a shoving match on a boat!
Forehead to forehead, tag to Omega, he and Scorpio lock up, Sky slips out, waistlock, reversed to a wristlock, Kenny wrenches it in but it gets reversed. Short-arm shoulder blocks, Omega back to the wristlock, overhead elbows to the elbow, wrench it, shift to a side headlock, shot off, another shoulder block. Sky kips up, off the ropes, front kick scouts the back body drop, chops, back suplex and Sky lands on his feet on a boat.
Whip reversed, sidestep the back elbow, Kenny gets his boot up and hits the Kotaro Krusher for two! Tag to Page, clear the apron, chops on Scorpio in the corner, off the ropes, catch him for the Fallaway Slam and the Hangman kips up after! Drawing Sky up, scoop and he slips out, waistlock, back elbow, blind tag from Kazarian and he cuts Adam off with a spinning wheel kick on a boat!
Scoop and a slam, springboard leg drop, again just a nearfall! Tag to Sky, double whip into double elbows, cover gets two, smashing Page’s face into Frankie’s boot and he makes the tag. Straight suplex, cover for two, overhead German suplex and Kenny breaks it up! Sky comes in, they brawl in the corner and referee Paul Turner restores order, on a boat.
Kazarian draws him up, tag to Scorpio, putting boots to Page, snapmare into a double stomp to the face and Turner warns him for it. Tag to Frankie, double whip, back body drop to the apron, boot up on the charge, Hangman walks into a front kick but explodes out of the corner with a lariat! Lungblower cuts Adam off, Unprettier connects... NOPE ON A BOAT!
Whip, double lariats and both men are down and out! Tags made, Omega comes in hot with double axehandles, a big chop, thinking Dragon suplex but Sky blocks with elbows. Whip across, up and over, roll through, snap off the Frankensteiner! Dragon suplex for Kazarian, fisherman buster on Scorpio... STILL NO! Drawing Sky up, calling for Hangman, fireman’s carry on a boat.
Finlay Roll, running shooting star press, moonsault off the top... ONLY A NEARFALL! Page dives on Kazarian on the floor, Kenny with the buckle bomb, off the ropes with a Sky High... SCORPIO KICKS OUT! Omega calling for it, off the ropes, V-Trigger dodged, German suplex, land on his feet, front kick, V-Trigger hits this time! Electric chair, Sky slips out on a boat.
Kenny with the boot up, up top, Scorpio jumps up with an avalanche Frankensteiner! Fireman’s carry, Omega slips out, Page comes in... BUCK SHOT TAKES HIS OWN PARTNER OUT! Sky hoists Kenny up, TKO... HANGMAN MAKES THE SAVE! And so we go to break on a boat.
Back from commercial, Kazarian climbs up top but Page cuts him off... AVALANCHE FALLAWAY SLAM! Omega in, double-teams, rolling elbow from Page sets up a German suplex! Kenny with the Dragon suplex on Sky when he runs in, thinking double underhook piledriver... AND HE GETS IT BUT CAN’T PUT FRANKIE AWAY! Omega off the ropes, Scorpio cuts him off with a knee strike, drop the Gory Special... SCU LATER BUT PAGE MAKES THE SAVE ON A BOAT!
Hangman drags Kenny over, tag made, dump Sky to the ramp, powerbomb Kazarian, discus lariat connects, Buck Shot on the ramp to take Scorpio out! Back in, springboard on a boat...
”Hangman” Adam Page & Kenny Omega win by pinfall with Buck Shot from Page on Frankie Kazarian to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship on a boat.
The Young Bucks come down to celebrate with their stablemates and Page crowdsurfs with one of the title belts on a boat.
Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Priscilla Kelly (On a Boat)
Collar and elbow, Baker with a wristlock, hammerlock, side headlock takeover, full nelson, snapmare, crucifix pin, side press, arm wringer into a overhead hip toss, really working her way through all her holds as we go to break on a boat.
Back from commercial, Kelly in control, putting boots to Baker, back elbow, wrenching her over the ropes and yanking in a surfboard. Off the ropes, kick to the back, waistlock, standing switch, back elbow from TPK to escape but Britt hits a hair-pull mat slam to cut her off. Drawing her up, forearms on forearms, a pair of lariats, running knee in the corner on a boat.
Off the ropes, sidestep, duck the lariat, Sling Blade from the doctor for two! Off the ropes, legsweep STO from Priscilla gets a nearfall! Lining her up, Baker sidesteps a knee and lands a superkick! Kelly still standing but dazed, Britt with a Russian Legsweep, Lockjaw applied, TPK gets to the ropes but Baker kicks the bottom rope and rolls her back through on a boat...
Dr. Britt Baker, DMD wins by submission with Lockjaw on a boat.
Post-match, Britt is interviewed on a boat.
She tells Tony Schiavone not to question her character. This is his meal ticket, we all know he was at Starbucks before this and we’re all proud that he’s here and not just a shitty barista. The people don’t look down on him for that and they look up to her, because she’s a role model and that’s a lot of pressure. AND she’s the hottest girl on this boat (miss, Priscilla Kelly was literally just fighting you) and hey, she’s a dentist, on a boat.
She’s still going on as we go to break, on a boat.
Back from commercial, we get a recap of last month’s match between “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry and Chris Jericho, which did not happen on a boat.
Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Ortiz, & Santana) vs. Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Luchasaurus, & Marko Stunt) (On a Boat)
Perry and Jericho to start, Jungle Boy jawing at Le Champion. Chris gets right back in his face and slaps him, which gets Jack throwing forearms! Whip, dropkick and a kip-up, and Y2J rushes to tag Ortiz in! Rolling through, drop down, headscissors takeover, dropkick but Angel blocks it. Eye poke, take the gloves off, back rake, another one, but Jack comes back with an Arabian press arm drag for two, on a boat!
Tag to Luchasaurus, assisted reverse STO, Stunt tags in, assisted splash... referee Aubrey Edwards refuses to count because she didn’t see the tag! Triple teams, Marko with a huge DDT! Santana and Perry legal, isolating the Inner Circle man, tag to Luchasaurus, he shrugs off some forearms and drops him with a boot for two! Drawing him up, tag to Marko, hard palm strikes on a boat!
Tag to Jack, snapmare, kick to the back, cover for two. Santana with a back suplex, Jungle Boy lands on his feet, chops in the heel corner but Jericho cuts him off! Santana with another nearfall, and we go to break on a boat.
Back from commercial, Jericho’s in control on Perry, stepping on his hair and grabbing a double wristlock to maximize the suffering. Jack fighting back with desperate strikes, off the ropes, schoolboy for two. Chris cuts him off, tag to Santana, and he goes back to the double wristlock and follows it up with a backbreaker hold on a boat!
Cover for two, whip across, Jungle Boy takes the buckles hard and Santana clears the apron but Luchasaurus stands firm. Dragging Perry over, tag to Jericho. Draw him up, whip across, Jack ducks a lariat, folding press for two! Y2J stays on him, sets him up top, and chops away. Jockeying for position, Perry drops him with a gourdbuster and hits a diving crossbody... NOT ENOUGH ON A BOAT!
Proud-N-Powerful in, Ortiz legal, working Jack over and covering him for two. Into the corner, whip reversed and Perry hammers him with a Violence Party in the corner! Up and over the charge, uppercut, Angel passes him off the ropes but Jungle Boy snaps off a Poison Frankensteiner on him! The path is clear, tags to Luchasaurus and Jericho on a boat!
Luchasaurus clears house, Shining Lizard takes Santana out! Goozle on Y2J, Ortiz with a back rake and the big man drops him with a headbutt! Rolling solebutt, knee, crescent kick and Santana is good and out! DOUBLE CHOKESLAM ON BOTH JERICHO AND ORTIZ! Standing moonsault... STILL NO! Jake Hager on the ramp, Luchasaurus clocks him one and fights him up the ramp, on a boat.
Marko Stunt tagged in, 450 splash off the top... JERICHO BARELY KICKS OUT! Sunset flip, still no, schoolboy, he just can’t put Jericho away! Chris is on top of him, on a boat...

A video package recapping the Cody Rhodes / Maxwell Jacob Friedman feud follows, none of which happened on a boat.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance to send us to break, on a boat.
Joey Janela vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman (On a Boat)
Collar and elbow, Friedman shoves Janela back into the corner and jaws at him. Back to the lockup, Max with a wristlock, Joey rolls through and reverses to one of his own. MJF reverses to a side headlock takeover, Joey with the headscissors, side headlock takeover his own, Max with the headscissors counter, stalemate! Friedman offers a handshake and Joey slaps it away on a boat!
MJF slaps him, the Bad Boy slaps back, whip across and Max bails up the ramp. The Bad Boy follows, Friedman rakes his eyes and knocks him down before posing for the crowd. Janela to the ropes, Max charges in and gets back body dropped into the ring! Joey headed up top, MJF rolls away so the Bad Boy pops down and lines him up. Max pulls referee Aubrey Edwards in, Joey pulls her away and Friedman clocks him with a forearm, on a boat.
Hard shot leaves Janela crying out, Max puts boots to him in the corner, scoop and a slam, senton and we go to break, on a boat.
Back from commercial, Janela has him up in the corner... SUPERPLEX! Cover for two, perched up top for a followup and Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford appear on the stage and start making out! Diving elbow misses, MJF grabs the inverted facelock on a boat...
Maxwell Jacob Friedman wins by pinfall with Double Cross, on a boat.
Post-match, MJF gets on the mic, on a boat.
He says we love him, and we definitely love Cody, right? We should! Did you hear what he had to say, goddamn he’s practically a poet! In a world full of mumble rappers, Cody Rhodes is a real lyricist, looking straight into the camera and saying that Max is just another chapter in his book. And for once in his life, Cody was right! He is a chapter... and he goes on to say that he’s the last goddamn one, on a boat.
Enter Cody Rhodes, on a boat.
Max says Wardlow isn’t here, and he doesn’t need to be, because no matter what he says or does, Cody can’t lay a finger on him. But hey, he’s gonna give him room to say whatever he needs to. He goes to pass the mic to Rhodes but “accidentally” drops it, and when Cody goes to pick it up, he kicks it away and offers up his chin. Cody grabs the mic and Friedman walks past, throwing the bird up on a boat.
Rhodes says Max is right, he can’t touch him. The Young Bucks sneak up behind MJF while Rhodes continues, saying they can... SUPERKICK PARTY ON A BOAT!
Cody asks if they should throw Max in the pool and the crowd’s into it, so the Bucks manhandle MJF and drag him over to the pool, dumping him in! Max splashes and thrashes while the Bucks laugh and point, on a boat.
A hype reel for the cruise as a whole sends us to break on a boat.
Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone interviews “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega on a boat.
Omega says he’d never have predicted he’d be here in the tag division now with one of his best friends, but here he is. Page says he said he’d whip both their asses and he did. He continues and Tony cuts him off to ask Kenny about PAC. He says PAC is garbage but he’s gonna get his rubber match, but right now the tag titles are a priority, off a boat or on a boat.
Adam gets cut off by the Bucks showing up and Kenny says they’ve supported them since day one. Hangman says he’s surprised they won the titles before the Bucks did and he sips his whiskey as he leaves. Kenny sputters an agreement on a boat.
Commentary hypes up next week’s show for us, which will not be taking place on a boat.
Chris Jericho joins commentary on a boat.
PAC makes his entrance and we go to break on a boat.
Jon Moxley vs. PAC (AEW World Championship #1 Contenders Match On a Boat)
Moxley with the eyepatch on, circling, test of strength, waistlock, PAC with a go-behind, Jon with a drop toehold into a front chancery but the Bastard gets his foot in the ropes and referee Paul Turner calls for the break. Collar and elbow, side headlock from PAC, shot off, shoulder block, off the ropes, waistlock and a back elbow catches Mox in the bad eye on a boat!
Undeterred, Moxley fights on, chops, up and over, jockeying for position and he hits a German suplex on the Bastard! Corner lariat, PAC blocks the bulldog, another elbow to the eye and Jon staggers back! Putting boots to Mox in the corner, getting him in a half camel clutch and firing off crossface blows that dislodge the bandage! Stepping on Moxley’s head, running knee, and he dumps him to the floor on a boat!
Smashing Mox’s face into the apron repeatedly, Turner checks on him and we go to break on a boat.
Back from commercial, PAC rakes Moxley’s eye from the apron! Perched up top, missile dropkick, kip-up but Jon decks him with a lariat! Both men to their feet after, slugging it out forearm for forearm, Mox falters and fires up, off the ropes, rolling solebutt catches him but he gets the Crash Landing after for two! Looking for another, blocked, PAC hits a jawbreaker and then lines a second up right on his orbital bone, on a boat!
Setting Jon up top, jockeying for position, Mox shoves him down and rearranges his bandage before perching... KNEES UP ON THE DIVING ELBOW AND THE BASTARD GOES FOR THE BRUTALIZER! Mox reverses to a pin, only two, enzuigiri from PAC sets him up for Kawada kicks right to the bad eye! Off the ropes, basement dropkick right to the eyesocket... NOPE ON A BOAT!
The Bastard lines him up and heads up top... 450 SPLASH BUT MOXLEY GOT THE KNEES UP AND NEARLY ENDED IT OFF A COVER! Sleeper hold to follow it up, PAC breaks free with a headbutt, off the ropes, German suplex! PAC up top... BLACK ARROW BUT NOBODY’S HOME! Both men down and out, the Bastard with a front kick, off the ropes, thinking about another one but Mox counters with a DDT... ONLY GOOD FOR TWO ON A BOAT!
Neither man willing to stay down, slow to rise, PAC bails to the floor and Moxley follows after, stumbling and staggered and holding on to the apron for his balance. Back inside, Jon up top, the Bastard climbs to meet him... SUPERPLEX AND HE GOES RIGHT TO THE BRUTALIZER! Wrenching it in, Mox flagging but not failing, there’s fight left in him and he gets a foot on the ropes to break, on a boat!
PAC to his feet, he wrenches the bandage off of Jon’s head and starts punching away at the bad eye! Referee Paul Turner pulls him off and admonishes him, Mox takes advantage, small package... NOT ENOUGH! Front kick, DDT, crawling to his feet, pulling him up again, underhooks on a boat...
Jon Moxley wins by pinfall with Paradigm Shift to become #1 contender to the AEW World Championship on a boat.
Post-match, Chris Jericho heads out to the stage and Mox stares him down from the ring, on a boat.
