Two straight wins for Two Belts

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week’s nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, the Jan. 13 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday’s Impact, NWA Powerrr & AEW Dark, Dynamite & NXT from Wednesday, NXT UK on Jan. 16, SmackDown on Friday, this week’s, MLW Fusion & ROH TV, Evolve 143 & 144, and any other televised or internet streaming wrestling that aired from Jan. 12 - 18, 2020.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Everything is awesome!

  • New Japan’s decision to split Wrestle Kingdom in two certainly had an effect on our Standings, with Mr. Two Belts, his first challenger, the man he beat to claim the IWGP Heavyweight crown, and a departing legend all racking points from night two (and New Year’s Dash!!).
  • The IWGP United States champ definitely got some of his support for screwing Chris Jericho, but Wednesday’s other representatives in the top ten are just here for what they did on NXT - becoming the #1 contender for the North American title, and challenging Johnny TakeOver.
  • Friday night’s got more delightful with the return of Johnny SmackDown. I’d tell you why the Universal champ made the cut, but snitches get stitches in the Fun House.
  • Over on the red brand, The Man punched her greatest rival in the neck, and her man got punched out by Big Show.
