Rumor Roundup (Jan. 13, 2020): WWE in Saudi Arabia, possible issues, AEW, Brian Cage, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • PW Insider says WWE’s next trip to Saudi Arabia will be on Feb. 20 and that an announcement of as much is expected to happen soon.
  • The Observer, meanwhile, says they heard it could be Feb. 27 and that it may have been kept low key due to problems with the last show and all the issues in the Middle East right now.
  • In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer claims people in WWE have been spreading word that Tony Khan has been buying tickets to shows that have been selling out on the first day, even though it’s not true.
  • Per SoCal Uncensored, Brian Cage has signed a multi-year deal with AEW and he will be starting there soon.
  • Speaking of Cage, Insider says the reason he didn’t work against Ken Shamrock at Hard to Kill was a torn bicep.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
