Cody Rhodes vs. Darby Allin

Arn Anderson is on hand as Cody’s new enforcer as announced. Circling, Rhodes with a hammerlock, Allin reverses but Cody backs him into the corner. Off the ropes, shoulder block, drop down, shoulder block, Darby up at one. Keeping his distance, circling, lockup and Rhodes grabs a wristlock. Arm wringer, reversed, Allin rolls through but Cody pops away, front kick, drop down slap countered into a pin.

Trading pins for nearfalls, Double A offers Cody some advice and they get back at it, Allin with a go-behind, O’Connor roll blocked, Coffin Drop reversed, Cross Rhodes blocked! Standing Diamond Dust blocked and we get a stalemate that gives way to a slugfest! Darby to the floor, Cody seemingly happy to take a countout at first but Allin trips him up when he comes to the apron.

Off the ropes, suicide dive connects, but Rhodes blasts him off the apron with Beautiful Disaster! Drawing him up but Darby yanks his arm into the ropes and throws him shoulder first into the corner. Arm wringer, Cody blocks a followup and locks the figure four on in the middle of the ring! Bridging up to relieve the pressure from his arm and increase the pressure on Allin!

Darby reverses it but Rhodes is able to roll him back over! The motion is enough for Darby to barely touch the bottom rope with his fingertip! Cody with the spinning toehold but Allin kicks his arm and counters! Into the turnbuckle, cover for two, float over and Darby has the Fujiwara armbar locked in! He grabs the far arm and locks it in as well but Rhodes is able to get a foot on the ropes and referee Aubrey Edwards calls for the break!

Allin takes the turnbuckle padd off and Edwards admonishes him. Darby throws Cody into a still-padded buckle but Rhodes reverses the second and while Allin is able to dodge the exposed steel he gets sent to the ramp! Jockeying for position, Cody snaps off the scoop powerslam! Boot into the corner, mounted punches, Rhodes hops down and his the Cody Cutter!

Halfway to the twenty minute time limit, Cody places Darby up in the turnbuckles and climbs to meet him. Inverted superplex isn’t enough to put Allin away! And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, both men are down and out but Allin is a little faster to his feet, if hobbled. Rhodes with strikes, Darby gets the standing Diamond Dust! Dragging Cody over, Allin climbs but Rhodes rolls away and to the apron! Darby repositions... COFFIN DROP ON THE APRON! Back inside, Rhodes cuts him off with a front kick, Allin with elbows, block the Cody Cutter!

Thinking Diamond Dust again but Cody has him scouted... DARBY KICKED OUT OF CROSS RHODES! Sidestep the charge, Rhodes goes chest-first into the exposed turnbuckle! Allin moves him into position, Coffin Drop... THE KNEES ARE UP! Cody rolls through...

Cody Rhodes wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

SCU are interviewed backstage and talk about how nobody likes it when spooky perverts roll up and ruin a finish. The run down Santana and Ortiz as well and that brings Sammy Guevara out to ask what Christopher Daniels has besides wrinkles on his face and Ls on his record. Daniels gets in his face and says if he wants to find out if he’s still got it, they’ll do it next week.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose vs. Riho (c) (AEW Women’s World Championship)

Rose blindsiding the champ before the bell, she takes Baker out too but Shida has a kendo stick and we have a bell! Enzuigiri from Hikaru, off the ropes, running knee gets two! Riho back in, drop down, looking for an arm drag but Shida blocks and throws her own! Champ cartwheels through, ducks a lariat from Baker but Shida is back and whips her into Britt!

Arm drag for Riho, off the ropes, Nyla trips her up and pulls her to the floor! Going under the ring for plunder, Rose pulls a table out and sets it up on the floor. Hikaru comes over with clubbing blows, Nyla shrugs her off and Riho dives into Shida! Smashing Riho’s face into the table, Rose gets blindsided by the good doctor and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Shida manages to back body drop Rose and follows it up with clubs but Nyla hangs her over the ropes with a suplex lift and follows it up with a guillotine knee drop! Setting her up on the table... SENTON THROUGH THE TABLE! Riho up top... DIVING DOUBLE STOMP ON ROSE! Baker pulls Nyla in with a hanging DDT... SO CLOSE! Roll her over, thinking about Lockjaw but she blocks with back elbows!

Britt trying a triangle choke but Rose counters with the powerbomb only for Riho to break it up! Whip, la casadora into a double stomp! Champion heads up top, diving double stomp... Britt breaks it up with a kick! Baker gets cut off by a returning Shida, front chancery into a snap superplex! Sidestep a charge from Nyla, boot to the champ and she suplexes Riho into Rose!

Fireman’s carry into a backbreaker and Nyla comes from behind with a suplex! Slam on the champ, line her and Hikaru up, Rose up top... SENTON ATOMICO BUT NOBODY’S HOME! Nyla ducks a knee from Shida but eats the knees from the champ... SHIDA BREAKS IT UP! Hikaru with the Falcon Arrow... BUT ROSE MANAGES TO KICK OUT AT A FRACTION TO THREE! Baker with a superkick, Russian legsweep into Lockjaw but Shida reverses to a pin for two!

Riho with a jackknife...

Riho wins by pinfall with a jackknife pin on Britt Baker to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Joey Janela is interviewed backstage... AND PENELOPE FORD SNEAKS UP BEHIND HIM WITH A LOW BLOW! Kip Sabian is right there and they walk off together to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get a Dark Order vignette covering their attack from last episode.

Jon Moxley vs. Trent?

Collar and elbow, Moxley with a side headlock, into the takeover, arm wringer and a wristlock to ground Trent. Hammerlock draws him up, reversed, headlock takeover, Jon shoots him off and Beretta gets the shoulder block but Mox shrugs it off! Trent with a right hand, Jon fires off chops in return, headbutt, off the ropes, Beretta with the double knees!

Snapmare into a kick, Trent with chops but Mox decks him with a big forearm strike! To the ramp, release gourdbuster hangs Beretta up over the top! Jon back inside to take a breather and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Trent is selling on the floor when Moxley comes over and rains punches down on him. Drawing him up, whip into the barricade but Beretta springs off the barricade with a spear! Jon back in at the count of seven, Trent at eight, bringing the chops, whip reversed and Beretta snaps off a half nelson suplex! Off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO!

Back inside, running elbow sets up a tornado DDT... NOPE! Mox explodes out of the corner with a knee trembler, follows it up with Hook and Ladder... ONLY TWO! Drawing Beretta up for a powerbomb but he slips out, piledriver blocked, sunset flip, only two, Jon reverses, they trade nearfalls! Big lariat from Moxley, thinking about a suplex, Trent floats over and hits a lariat for two!

Slow to capitalize, Moxley recovers and Orange Cassidy comes in the ring. He puts his hands in his pockets as referee Paul Turner admonishes him and Jon fumes before sticking his hands in his pockets! He turns around into a Busaiku Knee and Trent snaps off a piledriver... NOT HAPPENING! Out to the ramp... PARADIGM SHIFT ON THE RAMP! Back inside, Mox calls for it and circles...

Jon Moxley wins by pinfall with Paradigm Shift.

Post-match, Sammy Guevara comes through the crowd with a mic in his hand.

He calls Mox out and says he sees why he does this, you get to hang out, get free drinks, free food, he sees why he enters through the crowd. Moxley gets a chair and Guevara tells him to calm down, he’s not here to fight. They told him they got a big surprise for him and all, it’s a new year! Chris Jericho appears on the tron to say they do have a surprise but it’s no surprise to him how good Mox looked in that ring tonight.

He’s the best in the world right now, and they want him in the Inner Circle. Other factions are recruiting, too, but they’re offering more than a black mask or a lock of hair, because he wants Jon to lead the Inner Circle with him and be an equal partner, and that’s why he’s offering him 49% of Inner Circle LLC and position of Executive Vice President, AND this brand new Ford GT, if only Mox says yes.

The car even has vanity plates already, reading MOX-- it’s registered and insured, and all he has to do is say yes. Think about how dominant they could be together! He wants to shove their fists so far down Cody’s throat they pull his pink tie out of his ass, to tie the Young Bucks together into an ugly Christmas bow, to beat Kenny Omega so badly that he’s as embarrassed and feels as stupid as everybody that lives in Jacksonville.

Think about it-- the world could be theirs, all he has to do is say yes. Y2J gets in the car and drives off.

Mox, mic in hand, offers his response.

He says all fancy expensive cars aside, the truth is he’s always considered Chris a friend and a mentor and out of respect, he’ll give him his answer in person next week. The whole world is gonna find out what’s in store for 2020, live on Dynamite next week.

And so we go to break.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara

Rhodes in with right hands, passing Guevara into the corner and catching him with a lariat on the rebound! Into the corner, chopping away, release atomic drop! Back to the chops, whip across, front kick, Dustin with a lariat to the floor! Cannonball senton off the apron! Back inside, Rhodes perches up top but Sammy rolls to the floor and Jake Hager shows up on the ramp.

Dustin heads out after him but Sammy cuts him off and tries to whip him into the post only to eat the snap scoop powerslam! Guevara cuts him off and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Guevara is in control with a reverse chinlock and turns it into a Last Chancery! Rhodes to his feet and out with punches, whip reversed, stop short of the dropkick, jackknife pin for two! Sammy with a lariat... NOPE! Mounted forearms, referee Bryce Remsburg warns him and Guevara heads up top... NOBODY HOME ON THE SHOOTING STAR PRESS!

Snap scoop powerslam connects, duck a lariat, lariats of his own, whip reversed but Dustin hits the drop down slam! Manhatttan Drop and a big boot, spinning spinebuster... SO CLOSE! Final Reckoning countered into a step-up enzugiiri, Guevara off the ropes, running shooting star press but Rhodes kicks out! Fireman’s carry on the apron, Dustin reverses... FLIP PILEDRIVER ON THE APRON!

Back inside, punch Hager off the apron, Guevara rushes in and gets back body dropped onto his teammate! Back inside again, setting Sammy up to have his dreams shattered. Guevara’s trunks *all* the way in his butt crack, Remsburg blocks it and Hager hits a low blow...

Sammy Guevara wins by pinfall with a lateral press.

Private Party are interviewed backstage when “Hangman” Adam Page rolls up to the bar to pour himself a drink.

They break away from their interview to tell Page that they’re worried about him and he says they should be worried because he can whoop their asses, and their party sucks anyway.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance, flanked by Wardlow as always and we go to break.

Back from commercial, MJF has already riled the crowd up to a fever pitch.

He says maybe if their heads weren’t jammed so far up their asses they wouldn’t see shit so clearly, but oops that’s wordplay and these mouth-breathing morons don’t understand. Speaking of morons, isn’t it great that the roles have been reversed between him and Cody? The year is 2020 and we’re so close to history, to getting Rhodes the match he and his mark fanboy fan club, but a few stipulations stand in the way.

Number one, it has to be at Revelation and in the meantime, he doesn’t care what he does-- and he’s gonna do a lot-- Cody can’t touch him, not one pudgy little finger, or no match ever.

Number two, since Cody is such a tough guy, it’s only fair that if he wants to wrestle Max, he needs to beat someone of his choosing first, and that man is his personal war dog, Wardlow. But actually he needs to consult his guy because he thinks it needs to be bigger and he wants to up the ante-- the match will take place inside of a steel cage!

And last but not least, number three, his favorite stipulation... live on TNT, in front of his family, his friends, and god, Rhodes has to get down on all fours like the dog that he is and let MJF whip him! And not just once, no, not twice, not three or four or five or six or seven or eight or even nine... but ten glorious times! And as the leather of his belt repeatedly rips Cody’s skin off, each scar will be a constant reminder for the rest of his days that his name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and he’s better than you... and you know it.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a recap of “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry lasting the ten minutes against Chris Jericho.

Jurassic Express are interviewed backstage.

Jack says it’s been wild, he got to have the biggest match of his career and he did what he set out to do. It’s a new year and a new decade and it’s gonna be a big one for the Jurassic Express.

Commentary, joined by Adam Page and a glass of liquor, informs us that next week’s show will be a tribute to the legends of Memphis Wrestling.

Cut to Riho being interviewed about her title match against Kris Statlander next week.

Britt Baker rolls up before she can speak and says Riho doesn’t deserve the title and she’s able to balance a dental practice with AEW but Riho misses time left and right. About Kris, Riho says it’s gonna be a hard fight.

Lucha Brothers (Pentagon, Jr. & Rey Fenix) & PAC vs. the Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson)

Omega and PAC to start but PAC immediately tags out to Pentagon. Penta takes his glove off for the big Cero Miedo but Kenny catches the glove and slaps him across the face! Jr. with a rake to the eyes, Omega fires back with chops and Penta returns his own. Cero Miedo in his face, whip, slide to a stop but PAC cuts Kenny off! Pentagon with a dropkick, tag to Fenix, double whip, slide behind, baseball slide from Kenny sets up a double Kotaro Krusher!

Electric chair, Rey slips out and Kenny tags Nick in. Lockup, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, shoulder block, shoulder block, Fenix is knocked aside but able to sidestep. Fast-paced lucha libre jockeying for position, Nick hip tosses him into the ropes and nails him with a dropkick that sends him to the floor! Nick slides out after, Rey clocks him with a roundhouse kick and then meets him in the middle of the ring with a dropkick.

Baseball slide misses, big right hand, back inside, ducking kicks, stalemate! Landing roundhouse kicks, stereo roundhouses knock both men down and they kip up! We go to break on the stalemate.

Back from commercial, Omega goes for the Terminator dive but PAC pulls him out of the ring and hits a corkscrew tope of his own! Back inside, PAC tags in and puts boots to Kenny in the corner! Choking him, charging in, boots up, roll over, the Bastard catches his leg and blocks the tag! Back suplex, lands on his feet, rolls through, tag to Nick Jackson!

Nick cleaning house, ducking strikes from PAC, landing kick after kick, running knee in the corner, strike rush sets up a bulldog! Tag to Matt, corner knee, wheelbarrow into a flip piledriver! Lucha Brothers in the ring, the Bucks double flip piledrivers! Tag to Omega, he offers PAC a free shot and they get to slugging it out! Forearm for forearm, trading bigger shots, PAC snaps off a German suplex!

Enzuigiri misses, Kenny with the V-Trigger, snap Dragon suplex! Fired up, Dr. Wily Bomb connects but Pentagon breaks the pin up! Penta with a Sling Blade on each Jackson, Kenny ducks his but eats the lungblower! Tag to Fenix, underhooks, Kenny lands on his feet... SUPERKICK PARTY! Rey dives over, Omega rolls him over but he hits double Ace Crushers! V-Trigger and a snap Dragon get the Ace Crusher and PAC barely tags in!

Perched up top... BLACK ARROW LANDS TRUE BUT THE BUCKS BREAK THE PIN UP! Match breaking down, the Bucks nail Penta with a superkick party, Fenix tags in, springboard corkscrew roundhouse... KENNY PLUCKS HIM OUT OF MIDAIR WITH THE V-TRIGGER! Electric chair...

The Elite win by pinfall with the One-Winged Angel from Kenny Omega on Rey Fenix.

Cody Rhodes joins the Elite in the ring and they beckon Hangman over from commentary but he just sips his drink and refuses to come join them.

That’s the show, folks.
