I usually save MLW news for the weekly MLW Roundup, but this story is too succulent to sit on. MLW went into Dallas last night for their War Chamber event and busted out a breaking news alert. (Don’t worry. No War Chamber spoilers here.)

LA Park will be cashing in his Golden Ticket for a shot at the Heavyweight Championship, which was the prize for winning Battle Riot II. The press release states that Salina de la Renta revealed LA Park will challenge current champ Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night SuperFight from Cicero Stadium in Chicago on November 2.
Ohhhhh, boy. Slather me up. I’m in hoss heaven. Those two heavies are going to tear each other up, and it will be glorious.
For those that don’t watch MLW regularly, here’s quick breakdown of each man. LA Park is the former “Chairman of WCW” La Parka. He’s rounded out with age and now has a rough brawling style. When LA Park wrestles, it looks like a stiff fight with lucha libre maneuvers mixed in.

Jacob Fatu is the current MLW Heavyweight Champion. He is a member of the prestigious Anoa’i wrestling family. Jacob is the son of Samuel (aka The Tonga Kid & Tama), nephew of Umaga and Rikishi, and cousins with the Usos. Fatu has a similar bulldozing style to Umaga but with Uso agility. He can perfectly execute handspring moonsaults and springboard moonsaults.
One man has been burned and the other is being stretchered out ...

Time to insert the obligatory ‘how to watch’ blurb for MLW’s weekly program.
MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Mondays at 7 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, and Africa.
Saturday Night SuperFight is scheduled to have seven fights total, four of which will be for titles. Park vs Fatu is a fantastic choice as the first bout to reveal. I was already planning on plunking down $20 with FITE TV for MLW’s first PPV. After that match announcement, I’m now super pumped and counting the days until showtime.
I’m also excited about the future Fusion television possibilities of seeing Promociones Dorado rumble with the Contra Unit. You know neither faction will back down. Add in the combustible element known as Salina de la Renta, and we should be in for a treat as viewers.
Does news of LA Park vs Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night SuperFight rev your engine? Or would you have preferred a different challenger for Fatu?
