Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Bayley’s actions from last night’s Raw triggered speculation about Liv Morgan being pushed as a face challenger on SmackDown, and that there’s a long term plan in place to split the NXT Horsewomen for a big reunion moment down the road.
- WWE still hasn’t sold out Madison Square Garden for next week’s Raw, although announcing Steve Austin helped move tickets. He’s set for the contract signing, but local advertising also indicates the show may have a night-long Stone Cold theme.
- Jon Moxley may be getting surgery on his infected elbow, per Observer Radio. It’s not clear yet if that will change when he returns.
- There was an altercation backstage at All Out between battle royale participants Sadie Gibbs & Bea Priestley, according to Squared Circle Siren’s Casey Michael. Fightful reported that Matt Jackson “was seen trying to smooth things over”.
- The AAA Tag titles will “never be ever mentioned again” in AEW, according to Dave Meltzer on Observer Radio. They were used so there would be a reason to have a ladder match.
