Chris Jericho has never heard of anyone on NXT

Is WWE vs. AEW a war? Who counter programmed who on Wednesday nights? Can’t we all just get along!?!?

In answering a question from Hollywood Life about whether it’s too soon to call AEW vs. NXT the “Wednesday Night Wars”, All Elite’s Chris Jericho shoots down the notion of a war with a quote that will fan the flames of one:

“I am not at war with anyone at NXT. Why would you start a war with some minor leagues? I think we [AEW] are doing what we are doing on Wednesday night and WWE decided to counter-program with NXT.

There is no war for me at all because there is not one guy on that show that I have ever heard of before and that is not being snobby– it’s just that I don’t watch NXT. So, if you want to watch NXT, that is fine. If you want to watch AEW, that is fine as well. But, it is certainly not a war on our part, because we have been doing great on our own — selling out shows and selling 10,000 tickets in five minutes without any type of war or competition.”

Y2J goes on to make the less inflammatory and more reasonable point that All Elite is going to focus on doing their best regardless of what WWE or anyone else does. He also talks about his value to the company as an established name, and how that value remains the same regardless of whether or not he wins or losses the World title tonight (Aug. 31) at All Out.
