Smarks would totally let Io Shirai step on their neck

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV), New Japan’s G1 Climax Final, the Aug. 12 episode of Monday Night Raw, SmackDown & 205 Live on Tues, Aug. 13, NXT UK & NXT from Wednesday, this week’s Impact, ROH TV & MLW Fusion, shows, and any other televised or internet streaming wrestling that aired from Aug. 11 - 17, 2019.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

... ... ...

  • ... yeah, I don’t think you need me to tell you why she won.
  • The Mad Queen defeated the NXT champ, his vanquished TakeOver opponent, and the man who beat The Rainmaker en route to the G1 Final & a likely rematch in the Tokyo Dome.
  • Women made up 40% of the top ten, with The Man cutting promos on Natalya, The Goddess winning the tag titles, and Candice Wrestling getting to show the NXT Universe what she can do joining the winner.
  • A bad plan and the saddest guarantee didn’t stop the Rollins Regiment from showing up to vote.
  • Big characters rounded out the week’s Standings. One in a FunHouse on Raw, the other in suspenders & a wide brimmed Stetson at TakeOver.

Where not much happened, but it was a good week for #Secky, as Bex padded her lead and The Architect moved into ninth. And since we’ve hit a milestone PPV, let’s look at the Full Standings - now as an embedded Google Sheet (I used to create an image file of the spreadsheet, but I’m trying something new)!

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week ending Aug. 10

A ‘Big 4’ show always gives you a lot to process - and that’s for ones that don’t happen the same week as the G1 Final. It’s a lot, but we’ll help where we can with sections on SummerSlam, Raw, NXT, SmackDown, New Japan, MLW, and the indies - where Sermon on the Mat is the best guide money can buy... and it’s free!

However you keep it organized in your head, click and/or type below. We’ll take it from there.
