Brandi Rhodes is a hell of a promo

We knew this from when she sold a bait-and-switch face turn ahead of her Fight For The Fallen win over Allie by opening up about self-defeating anxiety issues from her days in youth figure skating, but she confirms it in this week’s bonus edition of The Road To All Out.

Before we even get into that, I love how All Elite is keeping Cody Rhodes silent in the build to his match with Shawn Spears in Chicagoland on the Aug. 31 pay-per-view (PPV). The American Nightmare has been shown intensely training for the match against his former mentor at All Out, but he’s let other do the talking for him as he gets ready to dish out some payback for the attack which left him a bloody mess at Fyter Fest. MJF has spoken on Spears, and now Brandi gets a few minutes to address the former Tye Dillinger.

And does she ever, in a promo that heavily emphasizes the Rhodes family legacy before declaring her husband will end The Perfect Ten’s fifteen minutes of fame at Sears Centre in a couple weeks:

The Chief Brand Officer’s speech not only ties in the history represented by her late, great father-in-law’s arch-nemesis Tully Blanchard cornering Spears for the match, it continues to tease out the question of whole will accompany Cody to the match. The way Brandi sells menacing disgust here, I’d bring her for sure, but AEW may want to use this spot to surprise us with a legend or new name.

We’ll see about that on Aug. 31. Until then, while it’s not clear how her in-ring skills will develop, it’s become pretty clear All Elite has a gifted talked on their hands in Mrs. Rhodes.
