The Rock’s movie train is full steam ahead with no signs of stopping. The summer blockbuster Hobbs & Shaw with Jason Statham, Idris Elba, and Roman Reigns is scheduled for release on August 2. The Rock’s work with Emily Blunt was officially wrapped for the 2020 Jungle Cruise adventure flick.
This week, a trailer for the Jumanji sequel was released. Jumanji: The Next Level brings back the core four video game world characters played by the Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. The twist this time is that Danny DeVito and Danny Glover become two of the real world players. Take a wild guess who transforms into the Rock. That’s right, Danny DeVito.
Check out the trailer explaining the video game action comedy.
That looks wild for a family friendly movie. It makes me want to go back and watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle to see what I missed.
Danny DeVito is no stranger to the wrestling world. He entered the ring as The Trashman in an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. DeVito even has a custom action figure.
Seeing DeVito, the Rock, and Kevin Hart all on screen in the same movie makes me yearn for a Twins sequel. There has been talk over the years of another Twins movie with DeVito, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Eddie Murphy. If that falls through, the Rock and Hart would make a hilarious pair of brothers separated at birth like DeVito and Schwarzenegger in the original. Who wouldn’t want to see all four giving expressions of smoldering intensity?
Jumanji: The Next Level is scheduled for release on December 13, 2019. Will you be watching? Do you think it will beat the $962.1 million box office of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle?
