If you’re on a wrestling website, you’ve surely seen articles or comments about New Japan’s tournament, the G1 Climax. But if you’re like a lot of folks who mostly stick to the wrestling shows which show up on major cable channels in primetime, you might still be scratching your head about why this event gets so many fans buzzing every summer.
New Japan knows that, and as they push to capture new fans by opening this year’s G1 Climax in the United States and including ex-WWE Superstars like Jon Moxley and KENTA in with their own all-star line-up of names like Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, Will Ospreay and others, they’re produced a couple of slick videos explaining the history of the tournament.
They’re really enjoyable, even if you’re a puro veteran. So give them a watch before tonight’s kickoff in Dallas, and see why the G1 Climax is about a lot more than just a main event spot at the Jan. 4 Tokyo Dome pay-per-view (PPV).
Then join us for opening night of G1 Climax 29 here!
