Honestly, my first reaction was the old Tony Schiavone line when WCW spoiled Mick Foley’s WWF title win: “that’ll put butts in seats”.
In reality, it should be a good match, featuring one of All Elite’s top stars against a young guy in whom they see a lot of potential. Depending on how well the whole “wins and losses matter” thing pans out, there could be a lot riding on this. The Executive Vice-President won’t want to lose on the TNT premiere. The young gun will pull out all the stops to go down in the history books by upsetting a founder.
We’ll see how it pans out. In the meantime, here it is, the first match booked for AEW’s television debut on Weds., Oct. 2 in Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center... Cody vs. Sammy Guevara:

Interestingly enough, this is not a first-time encounter, though it’s not clear whether AEW will reference this history:
Intrigued enough to grab some tickets when they go on sale Friday (Aug. 2)? If you weren’t already, that is.
