There was talk for many months that Brock Lesnar would be going back to the UFC for a heavyweight title fight against current champion Daniel Cormier sometime this year. Cormier had made it clear he had hoped said fight would be his last in mixed martial arts.

Then, UFC President Dana White said Lesnar was retired. Not long after, WWE announced he would be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the show to be held in Jeddah on June 7.

Now, the UFC has officially announced that Cormier has been booked to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports the Cormier vs. Lesnar fight fell apart due to money. Either way, it lends further credence to the idea that Brock, at 41-years-old, is really and truly done with MMA.

At least until it’s time to negotiate again.
