El Phantasmo joins Bullet Club, ends their losing streak on the sixth anniversary of their founding

NJPW World

At New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestling Dontaku 2019 Night Two today (for full results, check here), Bullet Club’s mystery junior heavyweight teaming with Taiji Ishimori against Will Ospreay and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Dragon Lee indeed turned out to be Canada’s El Phantasmo, as expected.

Phantasmo was impressive in his debut, showing off his high flying skills and rope-walking acumen with aplomb including a wild top rope Asai moonsault before getting the win with an Angel’s Wings on Ospreay.

Which, not only is that an impressive victory over a former junior champion and one of the best wrestlers in NJPW today that will serve to give ELP a huge boost of momentum headed into Best of the Super Jr. 26 when it begins on May 13, it ends the embarrassing 0-5 losing streak Bullet Club found themselves experiencing on this, the sixth Wrestling Dontaku since Prince Devitt, Karl Anderson, Bad Luck Fale, and Tama Tonga first formed the unit back in 2013.

There you have it, folks
