New Japan & Ring of Honor beat them to being the first non-WWE show at Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden in decades when they booked the venue for last month’s G1 Supercard. But AAA isn’t too far behind, and they’ve be invading New York this September for a show aptly named Invading New York.
Ticket for the Sun., Sept. 15 event go on sale in two days (Sun., May 5), so the company’s released a list of talent who they plan to bring to the Garden. It’s an impressive list of luchadors, but I have to wonder if it’s enough to sell out ~18K seats.
What would help, but isn’t explicitly promoted in the below press release, would be appearances by some of the names signed to AAA partner All Elite Wrestling. Hell, Cody Rhodes & The Young Bucks went to Puebla, Mexico for Rey de Reyes, and the Bucks will defend their AAA Tag titles against Pentagon & Fenix - who are advertised for Invading New York - later this month at Double Or Nothing.
Check out the announcement from Dorian Roldan’s fed, and let us know if you’ll be checking out the show. And if you’d be more inclined to check it out if they promised some AEW interaction...
