Considering the status of Chris Jericho, a former WWE star who helped New Japan grow quickly in the U.S. during his run there, and Kenny Omega being the obvious face of AEW, it only made sense that a match between the two headlined the Double or Nothing pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sun., May 25, 2019) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. It was a rematch of their show stealer at Wrestle Kingdom 12, with the winner promised a shot at Hangman Page and the vacant AEW world championship.
It was very much what you would expect from these two:

About 30 minutes of frenetic action - the last several of which featured the men going for and kicking out of finishers - ended when Jericho hit his newest one, the Judas Killer. Omega went down, and so did the notion that the Elite crew would run the table at Double or Nothing.
