How did we get here?

Lacey Evans, “The Lady” of WWE got called up near the Royal Rumble and, well...flopped. Literally.

Then she walked around for a bit doing absolutely nothing.

Meanwhile, Becky Lynch rose to the top of the company, main evented WrestleMania 35 and walked out Becky Two Belts.

Naturally, WWE thought these two would make a perfect feud.

On the RAW after Mania, Lacey Evans interrupted the champ’s victory promo with a smile and a women’s right, but Becky no-sold the southern belle’s FINISHER and beat the sass out of her.

Not a bad way for a feud to start - even if said #1 contender is greener than a bushel of granny smith apples! (I tried my best at a southern saying. It did not go great.)

But then for the following five weeks it went a little something like this:

Lacey: You’re not a real lady.

Becky: Nope. I’m The Man with two belts.

Lacey: Nasty.

Becky: Whatever you knock off Charlotte Flair.

Lacey: ...do you like my hat?

...

Just really superb writing all around.

Who Will Win?

Admittedly, Lacey has done a pretty good job with the very little she has been given to work with. She can’t quite keep up with Charlotte or Becky, but she hasn’t fallen flat on her face.

Since Becky needs to defend both her titles it makes sense to put her up against a new comer. She can win and elevate a new superstar in the process. Lacey has everything to gain in this feud and nothing to lose and even if Charlotte wins - always a possibility - Becky can walk away from this match with the flagship belt.

I personally don’t like the Southern Belle gimmick and don’t think it’s sustainable in the long run, but she makes for a good first defense opponent for The Man.

Hopefully Lacey remembers to bring a fresh baked peach cobbler to soothe her soul after The Man knocks the 1950’s out of her.
