In bad times, Smarks return to familiar faves

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - the May 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, SmackDown & 205 Live on Tues, May 7, NXT UK & NXT and Beyond’s Uncharted Territory from Wednesday, this week’s Impact, ROH TV & MLW Fusion, Evolve 127 - 128, and any other televised or internet streaming wrestling that aired from May 5 - 11, 2019.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

It was a rough week, but last year’s winner was still there for us...

  • Outside Becky Two Belts, we also looked to the black-and-gold brands for answers. There we found a debuting cruiserweight who can split time, and the brutal new United Kingdom champ defending his throne. Farther down the list, it was a Dream using the National Anthem to clown a potential challenger that impressed.
  • The Funhouse is still fun, as is watching the Hugster get her groove back.
  • Our WWE champ and the friendship hating SOB who’s chasing him never lost their grooves.
  • You also supported a couple big names who’d left The ‘E - one getting ready for Double Or Nothing and Dominion, the other we-don’t-even-know-what.

The S3: 2019 - 20, Week 4

1. Becky Lynch
2. Kushida
3. WALTER
4. Bray Wyatt
5. Bayley
6. Kofi Kingston
7. Velveteen Dream
8. Kevin Owens
9. Chris Jericho
10. Jon Moxley

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

What do you remember from a Wild Card of a week? Remind yourself about Raw, NXT, SmackDown, New Japan, MLW, Evolve and whatever other independents you watched (you know, the ones Rev. Claire’s Sermon on the Mat led you to). Then vote for your faves by comment or click.

We’ve got you covered from there.
