Last week, IWGP Heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks at Yahuoko! Dome.
We’ve seen wrestlers perform this duty a lot, so it’s not shocking New Japan’s biggest star got the gig. It is pretty amazing to see Okada handle the responsibility in his standard wrestling gear, however.

While I’m extremely disappointed in whoever was producing this Pacific League broadcast - you’ve got to pan out on the Rainmaker pose, my brother/sister/gender-nonconforming sibling! - I’ve got to say, Okada is even cooler than I thought. And I already thought he was pretty darn cool.
Now I need to see a WWE champion pull this off. Rollins was the first person who came to mind, both because I guess the Universal title is the company’s top belt, and because I don’t think Crossfit Jesus won’t feel uncomfortable taking his shirt off outside of the ring. But Kofi Kingston, or Becky Lynch, or Johnny Gargano will suffice. The funniest option might be United Kingdom champion WALTER. Who wouldn’t want to see a huge pale Austrian in briefs on the mound?
