AEW adds to their women’s roster

Vice-president Kenny Omega didn’t sign his Golden Lovers partner Kota Ibushi to AEW, but the new company has landed someone rumored to be Kenny’s ex. Joshi freelancer Hikaru Shida is All Elite.

Shida trained in martial arts before becoming an actress. Her TV and film work, notably in the movie Three Count, led her to pro wrestling. She wrestled in the Ice Ribbon promotion until 2014, when she went freelance.

There aren’t a ton of details about her relationship with Kenny, but they’ve worked together plenty, including in some ass-based mixed tag matches which also involved SmackDown’s Asuka back when she went by Kana, so there’s that.

Hikaru joins a growing women’s roster for AEW which includes Britt Baker, Kylie Rae, Allie, Nyla Rose, Bea Priestly and Penelope Ford.
