Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins as the opener was a late change to the WrestleMania 35 match order, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. It was switched after the Kickoff started, and Hulk Hogan didn’t even know why Paul Heyman was coming out during his promo at the top of the main show.
- Dave Meltzer also reports Ronda Rousey was scheduled to be on Raw for possibly her last WWE appearance Monday night, but her hand injury changed those plans. There’s no timetable for her return.
- The Observer says AJ Styles is listed by WWE as having a hip injury.
- Call-ups have been discussed for Kairi Sane and Candice LeRae, per Observer Radio.
- A third Mae Young Classic is on the way this year, according to Squared Circle Sirens, who say the news was revealed in a German documentary on WWE’s tryouts in the country.
