Top 5 The Undertaker WrestleMania matches

Undertaker vs CM Punk / Streak vs Streak WWE

WrestleMania season is upon us and there is one WWE performer’s name that immediately comes to mind when thinking about the biggest event in pro wrestling. Of course, that name is The Undertaker. Wrestling fans can wager on the biggest sports events using the BetAmerica promo code and predict the winner of each game.

The Undertaker tallied 21 straight WrestleMania victories before finally losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. Although he has returned for further matches, few have the memories of The Undertaker’s original streak. Here is a look at the top 5 The Undertaker WrestleMania matches.

5. WrestleMania X8

In 1991, The Undertaker and Ric Flair were on the same side. The latter helped the former defeat Hulk Hogan at The Survivors Series to win the WWE Championship for the first time.

Flash forward to WrestleMania X8 for The Undertaker and Flair doing battle in a no-Disqualification match. The bout saw two of wrestling’s most popular figures from the 1990s fight in the evening’s longest match (18:47).

The Undertaker picked up the victory following a Tombstone Piledriver to push his wins record to 10-0.

4. WrestleMania VIII

The Undertaker made his WrestleMania debut at the 1991 event against Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, but it wasn’t until the following year that he faced off with a truly intriguing opponent.

‘Taker took on Jake “The Snake” Roberts in a blow off of a feud that had started months prior. The former friends had become deadly enemies thus turning The Undertaker babyface and into one of the WWE’s most popular wrestlers.

Roberts did the job following a Tombstone Piledriver. He subsequently left the WWE and moved to WCW.

3. WrestleMania XXIV

The Undertake and Edge fought for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIV. The bout saw a back and forth brawl as both men battled for the title.

The match will be remembered for run-ins and outside interference from Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. The championship main event went back and forth for 24 minutes. Finally, The Undertaker latched on Hell’s Gate submission move to get the tap out victory.

2. WrestleMania 29

According to The Undertaker’s WrestleMania 29 opponent CM Punk, he wanted to steal the show due to their match not being the headliner. Punk got his wish as he and The Undertaker put on a stellar 22-minute ring war.

The build-up to the match was all about Punk insulting The Undertaker and the recently deceased Paul Bearer. The use of personal issues and emotions helped to create a far more interesting storyline than anything else on that year’s card.

The end came when The Undertaker hit Punk with a Tombstone Piledriver following a failed GTS.

1. WrestleMania XXV

How do you top a WrestleMania XXIV title win over Edge? By taking on one of the WWE’s most iconic wrestlers Shawn Michaels.

The Undertaker pushed his WrestleMania streak to 17-0 thanks to his win over Michaels. The finish came when Michaels attempted a top-rope moonsault but was caught by The Undertaker. The Deadman turned the move into a Tombstone Piledriver before pinning The Heartbreak Kid.

The 30-minute epic was immediately hailed as a 5-star mat classic. Although the duo would face off again a year later, the follow-up failed to make the mark of the original.
