If you’re a fan of EC3 from his work in TNA/Impact or on NXT, you’ve probably been pretty frustrated with his main roster run over the last several months. Maybe you’re unfamiliar with him and just wondering why WWE would bother to call a guy up and then not really use him on Raw or SmackDown.
Hopefully, this development from an untaped match before SmackDown LIVE in Brooklyn last night (April 10) is a sign they’ll give the Top One Percent-er more of a chance to make an impression going forward. It’s an idea with a track record of success, too, considering it’s part of what got both these guys over in TNA and led to WWE signing them in the first place.
Fans of Ethan Carter III & Rockstar Spud, allow me to introduce you to EC3 & Drake Maverick...

Now, Mr. 3 still lost to Luke Harper. And if you don’t watch 205 Live, the last you really saw of Maverick was as the incontinent manager of AoP during their brief Raw Tag title run prior to Akam’s injury... so this probably doesn’t scream “power pairing” to most fans.
But it’s a start! Anything that gives us the team responsible for “Operation Human Shield” is worth a shot in my book.
