NJPW Global on Twitter

It’s March 6, and that means it’s time to celebrate New Japan Pro Wrestling’s birthday with the traditional anniversary show, folks. Naturally, it will air live and in full on NJPW World, so why not watch along with the best pro wrestling community on the internet?

Today’s action takes place, as always, in Tokyo's Ota City General Gymnasium, kicking off at a brisk 5AM Eastern / 2AM Pacific, and is headlined by IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Switchblade” Jay White meeting NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay in a rare champion vs. champion match. Also on the card, Taiji Ishimori defends the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Jushin Liger, and Roppongi 3K look to regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship from champions BUSHI and Shingo Takagi of Los Ingobernables de Japon.

Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, HIKULEO, Tama Tonga, & Tanga Loa) over Ayato Yoshida, Most Violent Players (Togi Makabe & Toru Yano), Ren Narita, & Shota Umino by pinfall with the package piledriver from Owens on one of the Young Lions.

Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI) over Toa Henare & Yuji Nagata by pinfall with a fisherman buster from Tacos on Henare.

Dragon Lee, Ryusuke Taguchi, Satoshi Kojima, Tiger Mask IV, & Tomoaki Honma over Suzuki-gun (El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku, & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) by pinfall with Dodon from Taguchi on Michinoku.

Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) over Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) (c) by pinfall with 3K on BUSHI to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.

Taiji Ishimori (c) over Jushin Liger by submission with a tilt-a-whirl LeBell Lock to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Post-match, Ishimori gets on the mic and says he’d like to have his next title match at Madison Square Garden and challenges someone from Ring of Honor, but Dragon Lee comes down and squares up!

He says New Japan and ROH both have great wrestlers, but he represents CMLL and he wants the MSG title shot! Taiji accepts! It’s on!

Chaos (Hirooki Goto & Kazuchika Okada) & Hiroshi Tanahashi over Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL, SANADA, & Tetsuya Naito) by pinfall, Goto reversing Skull End into the Goto Clutch on SANADA.

Post-match the dream team all take turns talking about how they’re gonna win New Japan Cup.

”Switchblade” Jay White over Will Ospreay by pinfall with Blade Runner.

Post-match, Gedo goes and gets a chair to further beat Ospreay down but Kota Ibushi gets up from the commentary desk and makes the save! Bullet Club attack from behind and beat the Golden Star down, but Tanahashi, Okada, and Goto return to run them off!

Ibushi brings all five babyfaces together in the ring and they have a brief moment of pointing at themselves, clearly indicating that they each intend to be the man that wins New Japan Cup.

Enjoy the show!
