Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There’s a lot of speculation, including among people backstage at WWE, that Dean Ambrose will be staying with the company.
- Arn Anderson was fired because he allowed Alicia Fox to wrestle after she showed up to a house show intoxicated, according to Wrestling Inc. While there were other issues between Anderson and Vince McMahon, this was “the final straw”.
- Fox was offered rehab but “instead went absent,” says Fightful. Wrestling Inc notes that she was not at Raw last week, and it’s unclear what her current status is with the company.
- On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said Fox’s absence might not be related to the incident. He claims, “Alicia Fox regularly vanishes for extended periods of time.”
- WrestleVotes says that Jason Jordan is sitting “in on important creative meetings” and WWE officials think highly of his input.
