AAA’s Rey de Reyes full card revealed: Lucha Bros in main event, Jeff Jarrett in a cage, Daga returns

The first of AAA’s ‘big five’ events will be upon us very soon. Rey de Reyes is set to go down Sunday, March 16 from Puebla, Puebla. The Lucha Bros had already issued a challenge to tag team champs Texano and Rey Escorpion. Aside from that and the namesake tournament, the rest of the matches had been unknown.

Not anymore. Last night, AAA revealed the full card for Rey de Reyes.

Marisela Peña, Lucha Libre AAA

• Tag Team Championship: Texano & Rey Escorpion vs Fenix & Pentagon
• Cage Match: Psycho Clown, Maximo, & Mamba vs Jeff Jarrett, Killer Kross, La Mascara
• Rey de Reyes Tournament: Laredo Kid, Hijo del Vikingo, Jack Evans, Sammy Guevara, Australian Suicide, Taurus, Golden Magic, Aerostar, Myzteziz Jr.
• Pagano, Drago, & Puma King vs Averno, Chessman, & Super Fly
• Taya, Daga, & Joe Lider vs Mocho Cota Jr., Carta Brava Jr., & Tito Santana
• Reina de Reinas Street Fight: Lady Shani vs La Hiedra vs Keyra vs Chica Tormenta
• Mixed Tag Championship: Niño Hamburguesa & Big Mami vs Villano III Jr. & Lady Maravilla

That looks like a pretty solid lineup. The Rey de Reyes tournament is full of high-flyers and Taurus too. Taurus is an odd fit compared to the others, but he can motor. With nine competitors, I’m guessing it will be three three-ways and then a three-way final. That is assuming no luchador sorpresas show up. We know AAA is going to AAA for the sake of AAA’ing. They are big on surprises, so it would be no shock if unannounced luchadores ended up in the tournament.

Best of all about the Rey de Reyes tournament is the awesword prize.

Lucha Libre AAA

Jeff Jarrett will be in a cage. How can that not be entertaining? The ladies will get a chance for violence in a four-way street fight. Yay, Niño Hamburguesa & Big Mami will be in the house.

The name that sticks out most to me is Daga. He hasn’t been in AAA for over two years. Even better is that he will be teaming with Taya and Joe Lider as a reunion of Perros del Mal members.
