Four matches, lots of talent set for AEW Double or Nothing

All Elite Wrestling’s Twitter

All Elite Wrestling’s second event, Feb. 7’s Double Or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party, didn’t feature anything too unexpected. The arrival of Kenny Omega was cool, but most signs have been pointing to this being his arrival for a while now. Pentagon Jr and Fenix were established as at least part-time AEW talent last week, and word of the new promotion’s partnership with Mexico’s AAA came out before the poolside pep rally got going at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

What we definitely got was a much better picture of what May 25’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view (PPV) will look like. Four matches were announced (or all but announced) and lots of wrestlers were added to the talent pool for the show, which will also take place at MGM Grand - although not poolside.

The friendliest set-up came when Christopher Daniels of SCU offered to face his old friend Cima of China’s OWE in trios action. Hangman Page and PAC continued their beef from the company’s Jacksonville event with strong promos (the former Neville’s pre-taped and shown on-screen) . Things got physical between The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros, as Fenix & Pentagon attacked Matt & Nick Jackson. And when Chris Jericho interrupted Kenny Omega’s sign-off, the Wrestle Kingdom 12 opponents had to be separated by a team of exectives & security.

On the roster side, the biggest surprises probably came in AEW’s Women’s division, which triple in size and now includes the legendary Aja Kong from Japan.

Here’s a look at the card, and the talent added to All Elite’s roster (whether just for this first PPV, or on an ongoing part or full-time basis isn’t yet clear in all cases):

Matches for May 25

- Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho

- The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros

- Hangman Page vs. PAC

- SCU (Christopher Daniels, Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) vs. Cima & two OWE talents

* Kylie Rae vs. Nyla Rose was also hinted at, but emcees Conrad Thompson, Alex Marvez and Excalibur didn’t tease it like they did the above four

Talent announced

Men: Sonny Kiss, Sammy Guevara, Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Baretta), Kenny Omega

Women: Yuka Sakazaki, Aja Kong, Kylie Rae, Nyla Rose
